Dedicated to protecting indigenous rights

FORMAL STATEMENT

The Indigenous Bhumiputra Peoples Party (IBPP) sincerely acknowledges and welcomes the decision of the Assam Kachari Jatiya Parishad (AKJP) to extend open support to IBPP for the protection of the Kachari community.

This support reflects a shared commitment towards safeguarding the ethnic identity, land rights, language, culture, and socio-economic and political rights of the indigenous Kachari people of Assam. The concerns raised regarding prolonged neglect in education, employment, and representation, as well as the demand for a separate Kachari Autonomous Council, are legitimate and deeply rooted in historical realities.

IBPP firmly believes that unity among indigenous organizations is essential to ensure justice, rightful entitlements, and inclusive development for all indigenous communities. The confidence expressed by AKJP in IBPP strengthens the collective struggle for dignity, constitutional rights, and long-term security of indigenous peoples.

IBPP assures that it will continue to work with sincerity, responsibility, and determination to protect indigenous interests and to uphold the aspirations of the Kachari community and all indigenous peoples of Assam.

Assam Kachari Jatiya Parishad Extends Open Support to IBPP for Protection of Kachari Identity.

With the objective of ensuring complete protection and security of the Ethnic identity of the indigenous Kachari community and other tribal groups of Assam—along with land rights, language, art and culture, and social, economic, educational and political rights—the Assam Kachari Jatiya Parishad (AKJP) has decided to extend open support to the newly formed political party, the Indigenous Bhoomiputra People’s Party (IBPP).
Addressing the media, AKJP President Shri Dina Basumatary stated that the organisation would soon be formally dissolved, following which lakhs of its members from various districts of Assam would join the IBPP. He informed that the Parishad has active district
committees in Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar,
Dibrugarh, Lakhimpur, Tinsukia, Nagaon and Karbi Anglong, among others.
He further stated that the Kachari population residing in these districts has been facing prolonged neglect in the fields of education, employment and socio-political representation. As a result, the very existence of the community has been pushed towards a grave crisis.
Highlighting the long-standing demands of the organisation, Shri Basumatary said that since 2013, the Assam Kachari Jatiya Parishad has been consistently demanding the formation of a separate Kachari Autonomous Council to address these pressing issues. However, despite repeated appeals, no permanent or effective solution has been provided by the government so far.
The AKNC also expressed strong concern over the government’s decision to form the Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council outside the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), alleging that the move threatens the distinct ethenic identity of the Kachari community by clubbing it together with other groups.
In this context, the Parishad reiterated that the formation of a separate Kachari Autonomous Council is essential for the protection of the Kachari language, culture and historical rights.
The AKNC President further alleged that the present BJP-led Assam government has continuously ignored this long-pending and legitimate demand. Therefore, the organisation has decided to repose its faith in the Indigenous Bhoomiputra People’s Party, expressing confidence that if IBPP forms the government in Dispur, it will ensure justice, rightful entitlements and inclusive development for all indigenous communities of Assam.
He also stated that lakhs of families associated with the Assam Kachari Jatiya Parishad are fully prepared to extend mental, physical and organisational support to this political and social movement.

The Indigenous Bhumiputra People’s Party (IBPP) seeks clear clarification from the Government of Assam regarding the actual share of tribal communities in government appointments. While the State Government has announced the appointment of 1,45,449 candidates, there has been no transparent disclosure of how many beneficiaries belong to tribal communities.
Similarly, in women-centric schemes such as the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan (MMUA), although seed capital has been distributed and the progress of women entrepreneurship has been highlighted, the specific share of tribal women among the beneficiaries remains unclear.
The government must ensure transparency and fairness so that tribal people receive their due constitutional rights and privileges in employment as well as in all government welfare schemes.

📢 IBPP Strongly Opposes GoM Report on ST Status to Six Communities

The Indigenous Bhumiputra People’s Party (IBPP) has firmly demanded the withdrawal of the GoM report proposing ST status to six advanced and heterogeneous communities in Assam.

IBPP President Dr. Phukan Chandra Boro stated that the move is politically motivated, especially with the 2026 elections approaching. He warned that granting ST status to these populous and advanced groups could trigger communal tension and seriously harm the rights of the existing indigenous tribal communities.

He further reminded that these six communities neither meet the criteria of being tribal nor are they original sons of the soil. The IBPP urged all tribal organizations to boycott meaningless discussions and unite for the protection of indigenous rights.

✊ Let us stand together to safeguard the identity, rights, and future of the indigenous tribal people of Assam.

Indigenous Bhumiputra Peoples Party (IBPP)

The announcement of the Indigenous Bhumiputra Peoples Party (IBPP) marks a historic moment for every tribal son and daughter of this land. For decades, our communities have protected Assam, its culture, its forests, and its identity — yet our rights, lands, and constitutional safeguards have been neglected, grabbed, or ignored.

Today, with the rise of IBPP, a new dawn has begun for all Indigenous Bhumiputra communities.

The IBPP stands firmly for:

✨ Protection of Tribal Lands
✨ Strict Enforcement of Constitutional Rights
✨ Reservation Justice for Indigenous People
✨ Safeguarding Tribal Belts & Blocks from Encroachment
✨ Restoration of Ancestral Territories
✨ Ending Illegal Land Leases to Outsiders & Big Corporates
✨ Empowerment of Tribal Voices in Governance

This party is not just a political outfit — it is the first ever united platform for all Indigenous Bhumiputras, born from our struggles, our history, and our unbreakable spirit. It is a movement to restore dignity, identity, and rightful ownership to the original people of this soil.

We appeal to all tribal leaders, elders, youth, intellectuals, and every Indigenous household:

Stand with IBPP. Strengthen IBPP. Protect our future.

For too long, our rights were decided in Dispur without us.
Now is the time for the Indigenous people to rise, unite, organize, and move forward with one voice:

Only when Indigenous Bhumiputras sit in the decision-making chairs of Dispur will our people finally get justice — land justice, reservation justice, economic justice, and cultural justice.

This is not just a political party.
This is a People’s Movement. A Tribal Renaissance. A Bhumiputra Awakening.

Let us walk together.
Let us rise together.
Let us reclaim our rights together.

Indigenous Bhumiputra Peoples Party — For Land, For Rights, For Our Future.
