Yesterday we from the OBC Federation (OBCF) at the UGBM wanted to discuss several issues related to Social Welfare Scholarship holders from AP and TS, reduction of fees for OBC students, anomalies wrt PhD admission process, exorbitant fee for auditorium bookings and others. However, the university administration has failed to conduct the UGBM in the first place. On the other hand, we opine that the Vice President of UoH SU 2019-20 should have taken over the presidency to present the union's perspective as per the constitution of SU. Yet again the administration hasn't come forward to negotiate in this respect. It is very clear from this that yesterday's UGBM has not met any of the expectations from the UoH Student community.

Remembering a great social reformer, philosopher & writer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on his death anniversary
His devotion to social reforms will be a source of inspiration for coming generations
Jyotiba Phule was born on 11 April 1827 and died on 28 November 1890. His full name was Jyotirao Govindrao Phule. Mahatma Jyotiba Phule’s father Govind Rao was a farmer and also worked as flower vender in Pune. His mother died when he was young.
Jyotiba Phule is known as a philanthropist, writer, philosopher and revolutionary.
Mahatma Jyotiba Phule fought a big battle against caste discrimination, gender discrimination, high altitude. Not only this, he presented the concept of a society based on the values of justice and equality.
He used to advocate women education a lot, this is the reason that when he was married to Savitribai Phule in 1840, he inspired his wife Savitribai Phule to study.
In 1852 they established three schools, but in 1858 they were closed due to lack of funds. Savitribai Phule later became the first trained female teacher in the country. He called upon the people to educate their children.
