To inspire and cultivate a culture of entrepreneurial leadership, the Department of Library & Information Sciences, in collaboration with the CSJM Innovation Foundation, organized an Awareness Drive on Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Start-Ups for students on 15th October 2024 at GSV Auditorium.

Embracing the change allows us to adapt,learn and evolve.
GSV Central Library made an attempt to bring change in the library system. Sharing a few glimpse and many more yet to come.

Today on 14th August 2024,Central library at CSJMU Kanpur organised a special book exhibition on the theme of “Bharat-Pakistan Horror Division.” The exhibition feature a curated collection of books that delve into the harrowing experiences and historical narratives surrounding the partition of India and Pakistan.

On this Librarian's Day, as we commemorate the 132nd birth anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, the founder of Library Science in India, best wishes are extended to all dedicated professionals in the field. The commitment to preserving and disseminating knowledge is deeply valued. Today, both Dr. Ranganathan's legacy and the vital role of librarians in educating communities are honored.

A one-week workshop from 27-31 May 2024 was organized by the Department of Library & Information Science for the students at the Central Library. Students got enlightened from the interactive session with the faculty members and alumni of the department.
We all wish the students for their bright future ahead!!

Department of Library & Information Science conducted an Interactive student session on the topic Understanding the Human relation and Values on April 20, 2024 at 11: 00 at Central Library Seminar Hall. Students of BLIS and MLIS program actively participated in the session.

A session was aimed at instilling human values in students which not only contributes to their personal growth but also positively impacts society as a whole.

Today was an auspicious day in the history of GSV Central Library, a Holy book “Bhagwad Geeta” was placed in the library by Mahamandleshwar Gita Manishi Swami Shri Gyananand Ji Maharaj. Hon’ble VC Sir, PVC Sir, CDC Sir and Registrar Sir along with devotees of Swami ji, the library team and students joined the program. Sharing with you all a few glimpses of today's program. We are fortunate that the library has been chosen to place this divine book.

to IIM Lucknow and RMLNLU Lucknow (28/04/2023).
The Department of Library and Information Science at CSJMU Kanpur successfully conducted an industrial visit to IIM and RML National Law University Lucknow with the help and encouragement of our Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, sir. The visit aimed to provide practical knowledge and exposure to the students about the various aspects of library management and operations. Students interacted with the library teams of both libraries and gained exposure to various services and resources offered by these two leading libraries. We sincerely appreciate the extended support and cooperation provided to us during the tour by Dr. Maneesh Bajpai, Library Incharge at RMNLU, and M. K. Singh, Library Incharge at IIM Lucknow, as well as their entire teams. The industrial visit provided a platform for the students to gain practical insights into the various aspects of library management, including collection development, cataloguing, and preservation. We also thank our coordinator, Dr. Ashish Srivastava, for his constant guidance and encouragement to make this visit fruitful.
