DLSA, Hooghly organized National Girl Child Day under NALSA’s ASHA framework, focusing on girls’ education, empowerment and prevention of child marriage. Conducted in collaboration with district education and social welfare authorities, the programme saw participation from 10 schools and around 450 girl students along with parents and teachers. The film “JOYEE” was screened and awareness was created about free legal aid, the ASHA Scheme, and government welfare initiatives like Kanyashree Prakalpa, highlighting their benefits and eligibility.
Ld. Chairman -cum-District Judge, Hooghly, Secretary, DLSA, Hooghly, ADM(D), Hooghly, CJM, Hooghly, ACP, CPC, Hooghly, DCPO, Hooghly, DI of Hooghly were present the said programme.

DLSA Hooghly conducted a legal awareness camp at Dankuni Siddiqia Madrassa under Serampore Sub-Division, Hooghly. The session focused on cybercrime, online fraud, excessive screen time, online gaming, child marriage, and social media risks. Students and teachers were informed about legal aid services and relevant laws related to online abuse, violence, and narcotic drugs.

DLSA, Hooghly inaugurated Legal Aid Clinic at Goghat-I BDO Office in presence of the Ld. Chairman, DLSA, Hooghly-cum- District Judge, Hooghly, Secretary, DLSA, Hooghly, Block Development Office, Goghat-I and other dignitaries.

DLSA Hooghly organised a joyful picnic for the inmates of Uttarpara Children’s Home at Chandernagore Wonderland (KMDA) Park, filled with fun, games and cherished moments. Spreading happiness is also a meaningful step towards justice.

A Legal Awareness Camp was organized by DLSA, Hooghly for school students of Barijahati Girls' High School, Chanditala focusing on POCSO Act, prevention of child marriage, free legal aid services and cyber security awareness. Secretary, DLSA, Hooghly was discussed on POCSO Act, child marriage, free legal aid services. Police Personnel from Cyber Police station under SP(Rural), Hooghly enlightened on Cyber crime and social media fraud. Officer-in-charge, Chanditala P.S. focused on present issues of adolescent girls. To make the session more impactful and relatable, the short film “Joyee”, based on the harsh reality of child marriage, was screened for the students.
The movie deeply touched young minds and helped them understand their rights, safety and the importance of speaking up. Interactive discussions after the screening encouraged students to ask questions, stay informed and become responsible digital citizens.

DLSA Hooghly celebrated National Legal Services Day at Chinsurah Rabindra Bhawan with the inmates of various Homes across Hooghly district. Many Divyangjan inmates participated and showcased their talents through a vibrant cultural programme. Eminent personalities from the cultural sphere graced the occasion, encouraging and motivating the performers.
The event aimed to present the inmates’ talent, creativity and aspirations before the world, helping them build confidence and gain recognition beyond the boundaries of their institutions.
The Ld. District Judge-cum-Chairman, Hooghly, CJM, Hooghly, ADM, Hooghly, and several police personnel were also present at the programme.

DLSA Hooghly celebrated the upcoming Children’s Day by organizing a special science educational tour of underprivileged students of Class XI & XII (Science stream) at the Birla Industrial & Technological Museum, Kolkata, a Unit of National Council of Science Museums, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
