FLOOD FOLLOW UP - As the water started to recede around town, we had a chance to properly assess the damage and start the clean up process. The first wave of water-pumping, drying, cleaning and discarding garbage is now completed.

We want to send a huge show of GRATITUDE and APPRECIATION to everyone who has donated so far; and a special thanks to our staff team along with several students, tutors and friends who worked several hours each day to get things back to normal.

In the weeks ahead we’ll begin posting the purchases and delivery of all the electronics, equipment, furniture, books, musical instruments and general supplies we are replacing.

URGENT - A major storm hit Kolkata with little warning dumping massive amounts of rain in a short period of time resulting in record FLOODS, and our community center in Jadavpur was hit badly. We are now assessing the total damage. Computers, books, furniture, supplies, medicines, musical instruments, and refrigerator are all gone. Our already strained resources suddenly depleted.

We’re reaching out to all our supporters for urgent HELP; after thirteen years of being in this location and weathering many storms, this has been by far the absolutely worst, and while the ultimate solution will be relocation, for the time being we need assistance to get back to normal as soon as possible and survive the rest of the year.
