🎉While Indian batters tormented the Australian bowlers by playing strokes all over the park in their ongoing clash in the ICC World Cup 2019 at Kennington Oval in London, there was something that irked Twitterati. Australian spinner Adam Zampa was seen putting his hands in the pocket before bowling every single delivery during one of his overs. Soon after Zampa was spotted doing so, Netizens started alleging a possible ball-tampering saga in the highly anticipated match between the defending champions and the Men in Blue.

The Australian troika of David Warner, Steve Smith, and Cameron Bancroft were charged for tampering the ball in the third day of the third Test match between Australia and South Africa in March 2018. While Bancroft faced a six-month suspension for carrying out the entire planning, Warner and Smith were banned for a year. Bancroft was spotted rubbing sandpaper on the red-ball in the third Test and the footage of him doing so went viral.

The trio accepted the charges and faced suspensions as Australian cricket went through a dark phase. The players on the field were distraught and suffered defeats in almost every series they played post the infamous scandal. However, the Aussies bounced back in the limited-overs series against India in March 2019 as they defeated the Men in Blue 3-2 in the five-match ODI series before clean-sweeping Pakistan 5-0.

Meanwhile, Zampa’s actions were dubious during the match versus India today but there is no proof of him trying to tamper with the ball.

Talking about the match, India posted a mammoth total of 352 for 5 in 50 overs as Shikhar Dhawan scored a sensational century (117) along with vital knocks from Rohit Sharma (57), Hardik Pandya (48) and skipper Virat Kohli (82). The Indian batting order displayed grit and aggression at the same time to pile misery on the Aussies.
