Rotary Club of Calcutta Old City stands beside little Samya Deb Sherpa — a 10-month-old baby boy bravely fighting SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), a rare and life-threatening genetic disorder.
Samya urgently needs treatment costing around ₹9 crore, and every moment counts. Currently under the care of doctors at Peerless Hospital, his devoted mother is standing strong beside him day and night, holding on to hope.
RCOC Old City, along with the kind-hearted actor Anirban Chakraborty, has come forward to extend support and raise awareness for this noble cause.
But to save this little warrior, we need your help.

✨ On the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya, Rotary Club of Calcutta Old City successfully conducted two meaningful projects today at Pratyush, Kalikapur Jubogosthi Club.

These initiatives were led by PP Rtn Sunil Pramanik, with the presence of Secretary Rtn Diya and PP Rtn Sujoy.
It was truly heartwarming to bring smiles to young faces and begin Debi Pokkho with compassion and service. ❤️🙏

👁️🗨️ Rotary in Action!
Today, Rotary Club of Calcutta Old City (Club ID 28320) organized a free eye check-up camp at Newby Overseas Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with the doctors from Susrut Eye Foundation.
🔹 Free eye screening
🔹 Free powered lenses and frames for those in need
🔹 Commitment to free cataract surgeries, to be scheduled as advised by doctors
As part of our service to the community, the club also contributed ₹10,000/- towards this initiative. Club Secretary Rtn Diya was present at the event .
Together, we strive to bring vision and hope to those who need it most. 💛

Celebrated the 35th Installation Ceremony of Rotary Club of Calcutta Old City in true Rotary spirit! 🙌
From the induction of 5 amazing new members to mesmerizing performances in Indian classical music, violin, and trampoline , the night was truly magical 🎻💃
Grateful for the presence of our District Governor Rtn Ramendu Homechowdhury, 1st Lady, PDGs, Rotarians, and families who made the evening more memorable 💙

The Rota Year 2025 - 26 started on a very good note for all of us. We have successfully completed the first project of the year under the able guidance of our President Rtn Tapan sir and our beloved Doctor, Rtn Purusatyam.
On the occassion of Doctors Day we had organized a health camp at Saini Mahindra Alipore for the staff of saini group. ECG, Blood pressure, Sugar and PFT tests were done. More than 100 people attended the camp.
Thanks to Dr. Purusatyam for arranging everything on such a short notice and without him this would not have been possible.
Thanks to Rtn Surojit Kala for taking out time from his busy schedule and attending the camp.
Last but not the least our dynamic leader, Rtn Tapan sir who guided us in every possible way to make the event a successful one.
The event was attended by the club president, Rtn Tapan Pattanayak, Rtn Surojit Kala, Rtn Dr. Purusatyam and the club secretary Rtn Diya Das .
