Maldives vs Lakshadweep
I wouldn't flout my screenshots cancelling Maldives trip because I wasn't planning to go to Maldives in the first place but neither do I was looking for Lakshadweep. But given such a heated debate over this issue especially in light of racist comments from Maldivian Ministers, its high time we need to cut our tourism spending for Maldives as priority. So, in addition to refraining from Maldives let's analyse the real picture with Lakshadweep in the focus.
Majority of Maldivian tours are coatlier than Bali or Vietnam owing to a much serene ecosystem with white sands and clear water. Owing to such an aesthetic beauty, Maldives is a préférence spot for Honeymoon and high ticket chilling destination for high net worth individuals which go there to take a break from party and chaos. With its exquisite Infrastructure of luxury villas and hotels which usually are located in solace, Maldives is way ahead of Lakshadweep.
Development of Infrastructure is an economic exercise. Any Infrastructure is proposed to tourist projection at the center. Access to Lakshadweep is currently not as open to Maldives and the only way to reach there is via ship from Kerala with a prior pass. This could be justified when you consider the fragile ecosystem of LD. Large inflow of tourist in LD can deracinate the critical faunal and floral elements from the area which presents a much complex economics conundrum - without tourists reaching LD, any Infrastructure building cannot be conceptualized and thereby the vice-versa is also true.
Usually, the class of tourists flying to Maldives need high class Infrastructure. To develop facilities at par with Maldives isn't easy neither financially nor economically and nor it is enviornmentally favourable. But, surely LD has its potential which can only be realized if Bollywood and Insta celebreties are incentivised to visit LD which can attract general tourists. Developing LD can't be done in a fortnight or a month but will take several years but an impetus was necessary and this could be taken as an excuse to place LD on global tourist map.
As you and me, we have a bigger role in its development. If you are a solo traveller or someone who doesn't need 5 star facilities and who loves exploring must visit LD increasingly, be it a 3-day or a week's trip, which will earn Lakshadweep a place in Insta reels much like we made Kedarnath an item on everybody's bucket list. Unless and untill this is done, the economics of development can't be reasoned and only after which can LD move towards a world class pedestal. All this to be done with an understanding that LD's ecosystem is too precious than our national ego and its preservation must be a priority in the longer term with an emphasis on sustainable development of tourism and hospitality opportunities on the island.

Looking at Indian victory at WTO, it can be said that Indian foreign policy has got more aggressive and fearless. India has increasingly started to accept its role as a global guru.

Imran and Art of Diplomacy
As the justified fears of "no confidence" looms over the Imran Govt and the grip on the throat tightens, he seemed rattled in his choice of statements. However, his dissappointment is uncalled for since its an age old custom in our limitrophe Pakistan that every PM till date has had been ousted out of power before the term. So if there is anything, Imran should be thankful that he could continue for this long and now is the time to bid adieu.
Recently, a video surfaced online in which PM Imran was seen addressing masses informing them of the pressures of European Union Ambassador, on how "Pak must take an aggressive stand against Russia" on which he further countered them by asking if the "same was communicated to India on its neutral stand or not". He further reiterated that EU or any nation is unable to change Indian Foreign policy. He made a point on "how Indian foreign policy has been successful in thriving successfully while being in a Quad allliance, India is yet a neutral state as its Foreign policy is built upon the betterment of its subjects".
The art of Diplomacy gives you a lesson on how to deal things in a matured yet vocally. Making public the EU's letter has put Pak foreign policy in one of the weakest point in history to which the Pak Foreign Minister himself agrees. The matter could be settled in a more matured way, while addressing the masses can be seen populist stunt yet it seriously dents the national image.
On this scale the Foreign Diplomacy of EAM Jaishankar and PM Modi can be given its due credits. So far India has marvellously been able to further its neutrality theory with a balancing act. In these extremely unstable times, where the western nations are hell bent on curbing any nation who, refrains from condemning Russian aggression, Indian foreign policy got its validation in first France's support , and now QUAD partner Australia's statement on acceptance of Indian stand. The major brunt of the uncomfortable dilemma is faced by PM Modi who has to meet these nations' head as they increasingly getting anti-Russian. Two days ago, as the Japanese PM Kishida touched India he condemned Russia while couldn't secure an équitable response from PM Modi. Where Pakistan and UAE are facing indirect actions for being neutral, on the other hand India secured a ₹3.23 lakh crore investment from Japan without deterring from its path of true neutrality.
India continues to buy Russian oil amidst numerous sanctions and all US could exclaim "History will remember" much like history remembers USS Enterprise entering Indian Ocean in 1971 to cordon India, and much like history remembers it making Iraq a graveyard due to its greed and much like it laments how it destroyed Syria. Today India is reaping its dividends of its huge economy, strategic location, demography and market. Today India is writing a new chapter on "how to have friendly phone call with someone whom your friend hates while enjoying a dinner at his home which should go in the book of "Art of Diplomacy - Balancing with perfection ".
