Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan Launched at MMCT Division
The Hon’ble Prime Minister inaugurated the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan on 17th September 2025, a nationwide initiative dedicated to promoting women’s health and empowering families through awareness and preventive healthcare.
As part of this national campaign, the Medical Department of the MMCT Division organized the inaugural programme at the Mumbai Central Railway Health Unit, where Shri Pankaj Singh, DRM/MMCT, formally inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp in the presence of Smt Aarti Parihar, ADRM/MMCT, Dr. Nisha Singh, ACHD HQ, Dr. Sonali Ghumre, ACMS/Admin, Dr. Swati Singh, ACMS/BA (Nodal Officer, SNSP Abhiyan), Dr. Meena Kumari, ACMS/LPL, Dr. Rosalin Baby, DMO/MMCT, and Dr. Bharti, CMP/MMCT.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Pankaj Singh emphasized that the health and education of women and children are the cornerstones of a healthy society. He also highlighted the collaborative initiative of IIT Madras and the Railways to offer specialized courses in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science.
Smt Aarti Parihar encouraged the campaign and stressed the importance of women’s empowerment and regular health check-up camps.
On this occasion, a special health drive for women was held, which included screenings for blood sugar, blood pressure, haemoglobin levels, breast and gynecological examinations, PAP smear tests, oral cancer screening, and TB screening. Counselling sessions on menstrual hygiene were also conducted for adolescent girls.
Dr. Swati Singh, ACMS/BA, delivered a PowerPoint presentation on women’s nutrition and awareness of critical health issues, including cervical cancer, breast cancer, and lifestyle-related diseases. A lecture on Tuberculosis screening was delivered by the TB Supervisor from J.J. Hospital.
Other dignitaries including Dr. Nisha Singh, Dr. Sonali Ghumre, Dr. Meena Kumari, Dr. Rosalin Baby, and Dr. Bharti also addressed the participants, underscoring the importance of nutrition, mental health, and preventive healthcare under the SNSP campaign.

With meticulous planning and dedication, seamless crowd management was ensured, facilitating smooth handling of approximately 7.5-8 lakh devotees. A total of 376 UP & 436 Down trains were operated efficiently without disruption.
