The brave woman Kavya Maran refused to bow down to Indians.
This is my team — who are you to question me?
The owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kavya Maran, silenced critics in India after facing backlash for including Abrar Ahmed in her team in England’s The Hundred.
Some extremist Hindu groups in India had strongly criticized Kavya Maran and demanded that Pakistani player Abrar Ahmed be immediately removed from the team. Responding to the criticism, Kavya Maran said:
This is my team. I have bought one team in the IPL — Sunrisers Hyderabad — and another team in England’s The Hundred.
Pakistani players cannot play in the IPL because it is India’s league. But The Hundred is England’s league, not India’s. I will buy whichever player I want for my team — it is my decision.
Why would I purchase Abrar Ahmed and then remove him just because some people demand it? I have invested billions to buy these teams, and I will make decisions based on my own judgment and the benefit of my team — not on someone else’s pressure.
Those who are criticizing for no reason need to clear their minds.
