In 2010, we created India’s first live action-animation combination feature film Toonpur ka Superrhero. At a time when Indian animation needed a big commercial boost to revive a dwindling industry, the film was a well thought out attempt to create opportunities in the animation industry when there existed very few. Considered the Oscars of animation, Bhimsain was the first Indian filmmaker to be on the Jury of the Annecy Intl Film Festival (France) - the largest animation festival in the world. He was also on the Jury of the Ottawa Intl Animation Festival in ‘94.

Our Founder Bhimsain during the making of Gharaonda. Apart from being a writer-director, he was also a composer, painter and poet.

Here’s a nostalgic dive into Chhoti Badi Baatein, Bhimsain’s charming Doordarshan sitcom that turned everyday Indian quirks, superstitions, and small domestic dramas into warm, witty stories. Crafted in the 1980s and starring Ashok Saraf , Sulabha Deshpande, Maya Alagh and - the series captured the rhythms of middle-class life with sincerity and a filmmaker’s gentle eye.
