Get ready to loosen your purse strings as flying out of Chennai to a few of the metro and tier II cities just got dearer. A one-way flight from Chennai to Thoothukudi now costs nearly as much as flying to New Delhi.
S. Jeyasekaran of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) said, “People start making preparations for their holiday early April itself. So, the fares spike further sharply in other sectors, then tourists will find it very difficult to afford air travel.”
