PSF TISS Mumbai Unit has sent a mail to the administration regarding the recent notice on the closure of Dining Hall accounts.
Subject: Request for Extension of Dining Hall Access for Second-Year Students Beyond April 30, 2026
Dear Sir/Madam,
We are writing on behalf of PSF to bring to your attention a concern regarding the recent notice about the closure of Dining Hall accounts for second-year (DH) members effective 30th April 2026.
As per the academic schedule, several second-year students including those in Social Work and other programmes have academic commitments, research and coursework extending well into May. For many of the students, stay on campus and engagement with institutional requirements continue beyond April.
In this context, the closure of Dining Hall accounts by the end of April creates practical difficulties in accessing regular and affordable meals on campus. While the notice suggests shifting to a coupon system from 1st May, this may not be a feasible or accessible alternative for all students.
We kindly request the administration to reconsider this decision or provide a flexible arrangement for second-year students whose academic schedules extend into May. Extending Dining Hall access or offering a more streamlined alternative would greatly support students during this period.
We hope you will take this matter into consideration and look forward to a supportive resolution.
Sincerely,
Progressive Students' Forum TISS Mumbai Unit

PSF has officially written to the Dean of Academic Affairs regarding the delay in the convocation of the 2023–25 batch and other eligible PhD scholars.
PSF had written earlier, and it was informed that the convocation would most likely be held in October or November. However, it has still not taken place. This continued delay has created serious concerns among students who have already graduated.

*Concern Regarding Delay in Reopening of Old Campus Canteen and Amul shop*
The Progressive Students' Forum (PSF), TISS Mumbai Unit, has formally written to the administration and officials regarding the delay in reopening the Old Campus Canteen and Amul.
Respected Sir/madam,
We are writing to you on behalf of the Progressive Students' Forum (PSF) to formally raise our concern regarding the reopening of Old Campus Canteen and Amul shop.
The current semester started on 2nd January, but the students are still waiting for the reopening of the Old Campus Canteen and Amul. Several students expressed their concerns regarding this as these are the only affordable places for students to get food. Especially for students living in the campus and those utilising library in late hours had no other option other than Amul shop for any refreshment in the late hour.
Given the significant impact of this issue on the students, we request your urgent attention to this matter. We look forward to a prompt response and action from your side.
Sincerely,
Progressive Students' Forum

The old campus canteen and Amul shop, which students depend on on a daily basis, have remained closed since the start of the semester.
The PSF delegation has raised concerns regarding the improper and irregular functioning of these facilities several times, however these issues remain unresolved.
Additionally, many students have raised concerns about the gym and badminton court, which require urgent repairs.
Student well-being cannot be postponed. PSF demands urgent attention to these issues.
