Weekend Book Recommendation - Nonfiction
🌙 Shortlisted for the 2024 Scott Moncrieff Prize*! (check the fun fact at the end of this post)
Some people sleep like logs. Others—like Marie Darrieussecq—toss, turn, count sheep, name them, start a conversation… and still can’t doze off. 🐑💬
Her sleepless saga began after motherhood and, 20+ years later, still refuses to hit snooze.
In Sleepless, the author explores the twilight zone of insomniacs—writers who find creativity in their 3 AM despair, the remedies that never work (hello, somnologists 👋), and the strange connection between wakefulness, trauma, homelessness, and our digital obsession.
Ever wondered if your pet sleeps better than you?
🐶🐱 She has.
Ouch!
This book won’t put you to sleep—but it’ll make you rethink those who can’t.
I know many like that and I see how they manage and why they do certain things as a part of their lifestyle.
💬 Are you a night owl or a sound sleeper? Drop a 🦉 or a 💤 in the comments!
*Fun fact:
❓ Did You Know?
The Scott Moncrieff Prize is like the Oscars for translators—awarded yearly to the best English translation of a full-length French literary work. 🇫🇷📖➡️🇬🇧
So, next time you read a brilliant French book in English, thank the translator—they’re the real MVPs! 🎭✨

2007?
It may have been published then, but it entered our life in 2025—and so glad it did.
Humorous, gripping, and deeply heartwarming, How Starbucks Saved My Life by Michael Gill struck a chord.
It warms heart, will stir nostalgia, and perhaps will surprise you with the unexpected turns life takes.
It’s the kind of book one wishes would never end—much like some of your favorite drama series, GA.
Oh, how do you love a good drama?
Perhaps we should do a post about favorites soon.
One line, in particular, stood out:
"Marriage is for having kids," she said. "S*x is better without the bonds."
—Susan, a psychiatrist character in the book, sharing this thought with Michael Gill, a fine man she met during a yoga class.
This single sentence opened a Pandora’s box of debates among our friends—married, divorced, and single by choice. It sparked fiery discussions about social norms, personal choices, and the realities of modern relationships. The room was split—some defending tradition, others challenging it, all fueled by lived experiences, heartbreaks, and shifting perspectives on love and commitment.
A book that can stir such conversations? Worth every page.
Have you read it? How was your experience?

👌🏼💯Book recommendation📢 for all who are associated with students in any capacity,
It emphasizes holistic learning, creativity, and experiential learning. Each chapter covers vital topics like the bagless school concept, life skills, and curriculum guidelines. The book showcases a lived curriculum from Adarsh Primary School, Lavad, integrating vocational skills, arts, and spirituality. "Play Practice Pursue" is an invaluable resource that empowers educators to create dynamic and engaging learning environments, aligned with the transformative vision of NEP2020.

One of few accepted reasons for wanting to be child-free is caring about the environment and this seems to be the more social accepted response, but there are so many other reasons. For me, there’s no one singular reason why I don’t want to have children, it’s just something that hasn’t felt right for me and my path in life. I like my life the way it is. Freedom to travel at the last minute, to not be pinned down to any singular routine, to have more time for myself and others in general. I like taking spontaneous last minute staycations. I like my own company. I like sleeping. I enjoy working flexibly, which could mean writing in the middle of the night if I feel inspired. I like being available to go to the theatre on a random Tuesday afternoon if I want to. I don’t think that makes me selfish, just honest about how I’d like to live my life. - Emma Gannon

World needs more beautiful people like this sports person
💯💭❤
This made us smile with a moist eyes
Enjoy & Share it made sense to you.
“In one of the most notable moments in sports history, Kenyan runner Abel Mutai was just a few feet from the finish line, but became confused with the signage and stopped thinking he had completed the race.
A Spanish athlete, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him, and after realizing what was happening, he started shouting at the Kenyan for him to continue running; but Mutai didn't understand his Spanish.
Fernandez eventually caught up to him and instead of passing him, he pushed him to victory.
A journalist asked Ivan, "Why did you do that?"
Ivan replied, “My dream is that someday we can have a kind of community life where we push and help each other to win.” The journalist insisted “But why did you let the Kenyan win?" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win.” The journalist insisted again, “But you could have won!”Ivan looked at him & replied, “But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor of that medal?
What would my Mom think of that?”
Values are transmitted from generation to generation.
What values are we teaching our children?
Let us not teach our kids the wrong ways to WIN.”
