This is a message sent by one of the beneficiaries of the Foundation. The first few sentences are so typical of Alyosha !
“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honourable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well”.
When these lines strike into my head, I would thank this person every moment of my life. Today I live in this society with some commitments, with some respect is all because he has given me my education. Every person will have a goal in their life, but this person just never dreamt but made it come true. He has changed the lives of hundreds of people. His simplicity and caring towards others brought a huge difference in other's lives.
In the memory of great Saint Alyosha Kumar, I would like to thank every member of “The Brave New World Foundation” organisation who is giving education to all those children in need.
I am one among them who was a kid studying in a school and was leading a poor life. I had my grandmother who was everything to me. She had a small stall in front of National Law School of India University, Bangalore. She earned from that stall for our livelihood. For people like me, studying at a private school is just like touching the sky and coming back. My grandmother had to earn to give me education in that school. There were days when she had no money to pay my fees. Alyosha Kumar was a student at National Law School, always visited the stall of my grandmother. One day my grandmother was in short for money to pay my school fees. She happened to ask Alyosha to lend her some money to pay my fees and told she would return him back in a few days. But he refused to take the money back.
In these days, how many people would lend hand when others are in need. But Alyosha was someone that he led an inspiring life, he is a role model for many of us today.
It was such a disaster that I am too sad to speak about the moment that would turn our eyes with tears is when we remember that he is not with us today. He had informed about me and my grandmother to his parents. Every moment my grand mother remembers him, she would feel him as her own son. He used to call my grandmother “Amma” which has great meaning in it. We never forget him for our lifetime.
His parents Mrs. Deepa and Mr. Arun Kumar are great humans, that I had ever met. I always have great respect towards them. I would thank them wholehearted for my lifetime. I also would like to thank Mrs. Prabha Rao for helping us.
“The Brave New World Foundation” has given me education which is valuable more than anything. I could successfully complete my graduation in the field of Engineering. Today I have been moulded to a better human being in the society is only because I have got immense help from them.
It’s not only about my education, my grandmother was been treated in hospital when she had heart attack. His parents helped us for her complete treatment. They are helping us till today for her treatment. They care for us so much more than a family.
People always say that children from poor families take more responsibility earlier. I persisted to study hard and got excellent scores. I sensed the great warmth from the opportunity and continued to study hard and never disappointed those nice people who gave us love and hope. Your kindness means a lot to me as great as a mountain. The only thing I can do to reward your kindness is to spread my knowledge and help the children who are in need. I hope one day I would definitely gain that strength that I have received from The Brave New World Foundation in the name of Alyosha and his family members. The tiny root today will enhance and grow big tomorrow as a tree and will live long to generations.
To all of you kind people here, me and my grandmother were unfortunate people before, but now how happy we are since we have so many kind people like you around. You give us so much love, and I cannot express my gratitude by any words. On behalf of all unlucky children, I would like to say, “Thank you, and wish you nice people a peaceful and happy life forever.”
Through you, God’s love reached those children who are in difficulties and in need.
Thanking you,
Yours lovingly,
Ashwini M
