OFFICIAL CLARIFICATION

Some social media handles are claiming that female protesters were subjected to physical assault.

These allegations are baseless and misleading. Female protesters are handled by female staff and are treated with dignity and due regard.

Detentions and releases are carried out in accordance with the applicable law and prescribed procedures. Male protesters who were detained were released within the stipulated time period, following due process of law.

Any claim suggesting otherwise is factually incorrect and does not reflect the actual sequence of events.

Section 163 of BNSS, 2023 is in force in New Delhi District to ensure public safety, public order and smooth traffic movement.

🔸 Unauthorised gatherings, public speeches, shouting of slogans, processions, demonstrations, dharnas and other specified activities are prohibited.

🔸 No permission has been granted for any protest scheduled for today, i.e. 03.10.2026, nor has any prior intimation regarding any such protest been received by New Delhi District Police.

🔸 Citizens are requested to strictly comply with the order and cooperate with Delhi Police.

Violation will invite legal action as per law.
