कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी की महत्वाकांक्षी योजना भोजन के अधिकार बिल को कैबिनेट की मंजूरी मिल गई है. जल्द ही इसे संसद में पेश किया जाएगा.

इस बिल के संसद में पास हो जाने के बाद देश के 67 फीसदी लोगों को भोजन की गारंटी मिलेगी. इस स्कीम में लोगों को तीन रुपये किलो चावल, दो रुपये किलो गेहूं और एक रुपये किलो मोटा अनाज मिलेगा.

इस बिल में कहा गया है कि ग्रामीण आबादी के 75 फीसदी और शहरी आबादी के 50 फीसदी लोगों को सस्ता अनाज मिलेगा यानी कुल मिलाकर इससे 80 करोड़ जनता को फायदा पहुँचेगा.

जो गरीब लोग इस खाद्य सुरक्षा बिल की परिधि में आएँगे उन्हें हर महीने पांच किलोग्राम अनाज सस्ती कीमत में दिया जाएगा.
