Sometimes one meaningful conversation and asking the right questions is all it takes to change the future.
For many children, dreams are shaped not just by opportunities, but by the support, understanding, and confidence they receive at home. And sometimes, parents need guidance too because parenting doesn’t come with a manual.
In a first-of-its-kind initiative under Corporate Social Responsibility, NTPC Talcher Kaniha organised a Parenting Workshop for the parents of Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM 2026) students, along with a Career Counselling Workshop for the students on 24th May.
More than 110 parents participated in meaningful conversations around emotional wellbeing, open communication, confidence-building, and creating a safe space where children feel heard, supported, and empowered to dream bigger. Because breaking generational patterns often begins with awareness, empathy, and simply learning and unlearning things together.
The students explored career opportunities across fields like defence services, academics, sports, music, athletics, and more, while also learning about scholarships and support systems available to help them move forward with confidence.
The sessions encouraged every child to believe in one powerful thought; “I Can Do It.”
What made the initiative truly special was not just the counselling, but the message behind it: that every child deserves guidance, encouragement, and the chance to imagine a future beyond limitations.
Because empowering a child also means empowering the environment they grow up in.
Many participants described the program as a” much-needed platform” as it not only inspires students but also empowers parents to actively support their children’s aspirations and future success.
