Mukesh Mittal Joint Secretary (IS-II) Division has been given additional charge of Joint Secretary(Foreigners Division) in the MHA. He is 1987 batch IRS officer.

T K Rajendran has been appointed as new Director General of Police in Tamil Nadu. Rajendran, who succeeded incumbent Ashok Kumar, belongs to a 1984 batch IPS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre.

Dr Urjit R Patel has been appointed as Governor, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a period of three years with effect from September 4, 2016.

The central deputation tenure of Kumar Alok as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs has been extended for a period of one year from September 30, 2016. He is a 1990 batch IAS officer of MT cadre.

B Navnit has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Prime Minister's Office (PMO). He is a 1999 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre.

V Sheshadri has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Prime Minister's Office (PMO). He is a 1999 batch IAS officer of Telangana cadre.
