Saquib Salim Sahab stands as the most prolific public intellectual of history in India in the last 10 years, redefining how India's past is researched, curated, and understood. With a staggering body of work comprising more than 2,000 articles on history, culture, and society, Salim has made historical scholarship accessible to the masses on an unprecedented scale.
His career is distinguished by his leadership in public history projects; he holds the unique distinction of having led the research for the most museums as a research head in recent times. Salim has spearheaded the research for over 10 museums, working closely with the Ministry of Culture and other government bodies. His portfolio includes iconic national projects such as the Azadi Ke Diwane and Yaad-e-Jallian museums at the Red Fort in Delhi, the Jallianwala Bagh museum in Amritsar, and the Icons of Nationalism at the National Library in Kolkata. Most recently, he led the research team for the Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow, a museum dedicated to Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in December 2025.
Currently a Consultant at Awaz The Voice in New Delhi, Salim combines academic rigor with journalistic flair, writing extensively in English, Hindi, and Urdu. He holds an M.Phil and M.A. in Modern History from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and a B.Tech from Aligarh Muslim University. His work extends beyond the written word to include scriptwriting, video presentations, and public lectures, including keynote addresses for the Ministry of Culture and programs for All India Radio.
Through his relentless output and his pivotal role in curating India's national memory, Saquib Salim has established himself as a singular figure in Indian public life, dedicated to bringing the stories of the past into the vibrant discourse of the present.

26 जनवरी 2026 के मौके पर जनाब शान मोहम्मद साहब को भारतीय वायु सेना में सम्मानित फ्लाइंग ऑफिसर (Honorary Flying Officer) का रैंक दिया गया है।
आमतौर पर यह प्रमोशन उन लोगों को मिलता है जो बहुत मेहनती, समझदार और अपने काम में सबसे अच्छे होते हैं। यह उनकी बेहतरीन सेवा के लिए एक इनाम की तरह है।
जनाब शान मोहम्मद साहब एक नेक शख्शियत के मालिक हैं। उन्होंने सेवा के दौरान सबसे मुश्किल हालात में भी कभी नमाज़ और रोज़ा जैसे अपने दीनी फ्राइज़ को नहीं छोड़ा। कई बार उनकी दीनी सोच की वजह से उन्हें परेशान किया गया और मुश्किल में डाला गया, लेकिन वे कभी हिम्मत नहीं हारे। आने वाली 31 जनवरी 2026 को रिटायरमेंट से पहले आज वे दूसरी सबसे ऊँची सम्मानित रैंक पाकर खड़े हैं।
जनाब शान मोहम्मद साहब की दो बेटियाँ और एक बेटा है।
बड़ी बेटी एलएलबी और एलएलएम करके क्रिमिनल वकील हैं और दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट में प्रैक्टिस करती हैं।
छोटी बेटी बीडीएस डॉक्टर हैं।
बेटा L & T में सिविल एग्जीक्यूटिव इंजीनियर है।
जनाब शान मोहम्मद साहब तब्लीगी जमात के रूक्न रहे हैं और वे रोज़ाना की ज़िंदगी में तब्लीग के उसूलों को असलन जीते हैं, अलहम्दुलिल्लाह।
मैं इस वर्दी वाले बहादुर को मुबारकबाद पेश करता हूँ और रिटायरमेंट के बाद अच्छी और खुशहाल ज़िंदगी के लिए दुआ करता हूँ।

Pursued his medical education at King George’s Medical University, Lucknow.
He was the Chairperson in Islamic Studies and Research at Yenepoya University, Mangalore, Karnataka.

He is a noted Indian scholar and thinker, widely recognized for his work in the fields of Islam, socio-economic analysis, Physics, Health Sciences and Urdu poetry. Born in 1958 in Saharanpur, India, practiced as Consultant Physician for around 30 years. However, his intellectual pursuits extended far beyond medicine, leading him to explore and critique contemporary issues.
Dr. Jamil is best known for his pioneering concept of Applied Islamics, which deals with critical study of modern sciences and social issues in the light of Islam and applying Islamic principles for establishing Holistic Peace in the world. He has given several theories and concepts like Economic Fundamentalism, Peace Economics, Dynamic Paradigm of Health, Universal Theory of Relativity and Islamic Models of Family Welfare and Control of AIDS. In 1990s, his book, “Islam and Family Planning” paved the way for consensus among Indian Muslims on the issues related to Family Planning.
Dr. Jamil has been an active speaker on various platforms, frequently highlighting the weaknesses of the contemporary ideologies dominated by the forces of economics, urging a return to values that promote the well-being of individuals and communities. He has written over two dozen books, more than 700 articles, and is also an Urdu poet with a collection of over 350 ghazals.
Some of his notable books include “A Systematic Study of the Holy Quran”, “The Devil of Economic Fundamentalism”, “Islam and Family Planning”, “Muslim Vision of Secular India: Destination and Roadmap”, “Muslims Most Civilised, Yet Not Enough”, “Economics First or Health First?”, “Rediscovering the Universe”, “Justice Imprisoned” and “Prevention and Management of Pandemics: Islamic Guidelines”.
Dr. Jamil’s poetry collections include Rahguzar (published by the Urdu Academy, Government of Uttar Pradesh) and Khirad Bhi Junoon Bhi (an e-book on Rekhta Foundation website).
If novelty of work, freshness of approach, depth of thoughts, ability to influence the world and capability of revolutionizing knowledge are the criteria of greatness, Dr Jamil should be seen as one of the revolutionary thinkers of the contemporary world.

Recently he served for nearly 5 years in Maulana Azad National Urdu University MANUU , Hyderabad as Director, Center for Information Technology (CIT), and as Additional Controller of Examinations.

Now he is the chairman of Day Boarding School named Brain Discovery Global School at Haroda, Saharanpur set-up by him .

He is a humble teacher, an educationist, an administrator with expertise in Computers & Software Systems. He started his journey with a brief stay at Gada Boarding House, Saharanpur .

Being a dedicated educationist he dreams to help establish world class global schools at least one in each Block, one degree college in each Tehsil and one Professional College at District level. He aims to realize this through ambitious educated youths of our community.

Currently he is a Professor at Department of Mathematics and Statistics, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals , Saudi Arabia since 2009

Previously he was Associate Professor at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh between 1997- 2013

He serves as an associate editor for numerous journals. His current research interests include Multiobjective optimization, Riemannian Manifolds, Inequalities, control theory and support vector machines.

He has received Excellence in Research Award for the Academic Year 2016-2017. Winner of AMS Prize.

He has published more than 130 research papers in the journals of international repute.
