The energy transition is reshaping the industry - and with it, the skills and capabilities needed to power the future.
Against this backdrop, HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL) participated in HR Conclave 2026 at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Bengaluru, bringing together industry leaders, academicians and emerging talent to discuss the evolving skill requirements across the Green, Petroleum and Electric Mobility sectors.
Mr. Sushil Kumar, Deputy General Manager – HR, HRRL, represented HRRL on the panel “Skills Requirements for Green, Petroleum and Electric Mobility Sectors”, sharing perspectives on the changing nature of work, emerging capabilities and preparing people for an evolving energy landscape.
A key insight from the discussion:
“Energy transformation is intrinsically linked with human skill transformation.”
As technology, automation, digitalisation and new energy systems reshape the sector, building capabilities across technical expertise, business understanding, digital skills, adaptability and leadership will be critical.
For HRRL, this is integral to building a workforce ready to evolve from project ex*****on to a technology-driven, integrated energy and petrochemical enterprise.
