GTRE to Test Dry Kaveri with New Afterburner on Tejas, 80kN Success Could Trigger Upgrading Entire Mk1A Fleet with Domestic Engines
13/06/2025
Why Fund Kaveri engine?
We have plans of developing a 5th Gen 110kN class Jet engine with a foreign partner which can be used in Tejas Mk2 and will be used from AMCA Mk2 then why fund Kaveri?
Because the Tejas Mk1A still uses American GE F404IN20 Engines and we will be using above 200 of these aircraft in future.
Tejas Mk1A delivery got delayed by more than a year because the American Supplier was unable to supply them on time (Unintentional), Imagine what will happen to our over 200 aircraft if they refuse to give their support for the engine sustainment in future seeing the American unpredictability. That's why you need Kaveri the original engine meant for Tejas, a lot has already been done, further push will do the job and will bring the required Infrastructure for future programs with it.
