Rupee jumps 10 paise to 65.18 against dollar
The rupee climbed 10 paise to 65.18 against the dollar today after US president’s tax cut plans failed to sustain interest in the US currency among traders.
Banks and exporters turned their back on the greenback.
The rupee looked good, taking support from a higher opening in domestic stocks.

Two IAF commandos, two militants killed in J&K gunfight
The gunfight between the security forces and the terrorists took place in the Hajin area.
Two commandos of the Indian Air Force elite Garud commando unit and two militants were killed on Wednesday in a gun battle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
“The two Garud personnel were killed in action while operating with the Army for operational experience and training,” Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said.

Rupee hits four-month low against dollar
The rupee on Friday dropped by 31 paise to a four-month low level of 65.12 against the US dollar on frenetic dollar demand from importers and banks.
Dealers said early losses in domestic equity markets and unabated foreign fund outflows weighed on the rupee.
On Thursday, the rupee plummeted by a whopping 54 paise to end at 64.81 a dollar, its weakest level in over two-and-half months after the US Federal Reserve left the door open for a rate hike in December.
The benchmark BSE Sensex drifted further lower by 231.79 points, or 0.72 per cent, to 32,138.25 in early trade today.
