A meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) was held on 02 September 2026 under the chairmanship of Sh. Dev Raj Sharma, Officiating Principal, Government Degree College Kupvi, for the constitution of the new PTA Executive Committee.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held between the teachers and parents regarding the welfare of students and various issues related to the college. After deliberations, the following office bearers were elected unanimously:

* President: Sh. Rajender Sharma (re-elected)
* Vice President: Sh. Gyan Samta
* Secretary: Prof. Amrita Singh
* Joint Secretary: Sh. Lachhi Ram
* Treasurer: Smt. Radha Devi
* Chief Advisor: Sh. Prem Dipta (SLA)

The following members were elected to the Executive Committee:

13th July 2026, a lecture and speech competition were organized by the “Road and Safety Club Committee” at Government Degree College, Kupvi. On this occasion, the Officiating Principal Sh. Devraj , Assistant Professor Smt. Amrita Singh, SLA Sh. Prem Dipta, and nearly all students of the college were present.

Smt. Amrita Singh delivered a lecture on the topic “Road Safety.” Following this, a speech competition was held, in which Sahil, Pallavi, Sai Kiran, Ranjana, Shalu, Ankita, Priya, and Saunika participated. In the speech competition, Sahil (1st year) secured first place, Priya (3rd year) secured second place, and Pallavi (1st year) secured third place.

Govt. Degree College Kupvi celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India today with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The students of the college actively participated in various cultural and patriotic activities organized on the occasion. The celebration was graced by the presence of the Officiating Principal, Mr. Dev Raj Sharma, Assistant Professor of Hindi, Ms. Amrita Singh, and Senior Laboratory Assistant (SLA), Mr. Prem Singh Dipta. The programme was conducted with great zeal and excitement, paying tribute to the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and reaffirming our commitment to the values of freedom, unity, and nation-building.

Orientation Programme Organized at Government Degree College Kupvi

July 03, 2026: An Orientation Programme for B.A. First Semester students was organized at Government Degree College Kupvi. The objective of the programme was to acquaint students with the National Education Policy (NEP-2020), and various academic courses offered by the college.

During the programme, Ms. Amrita Singh, Assistant Professor of Hindi, provided students with information about the key features and objectives of NEP-2020. Thereafter, Mr. Dev Raj Sharma, Officiating Principal, explained the credit system, course structure, and various academic opportunities available to students under the new education policy.

He also introduced the students to the college, its activities, facilities, and the challenges being faced by the institution. Students were encouraged to actively participate in academic, cultural, and co-curricular activities and to maintain discipline and regular attendance.

The programme was highly informative and helped the newly admitted students gain a better understanding of the academic framework and college environment.

On 14 November 2025, a lecture related to various scholarship schemes was organized at Government Degree College, Kupvi. On this occasion, Ms. Amrita Singh, Assistant Professor of Hindi, provided comprehensive information to the students about different scholarship schemes available for them.
During the lecture, students were informed about scholarships offered by both the State Government and the Central Government, along with their eligibility criteria and benefits. The session proved to be highly informative and beneficial for the students.
At the end of the lecture, the Officiating Principal of the college, Mr. Dev Raj Sharma, extended his best wishes to all the students.

A special awareness programme was organized at Government Degree College Kupvi on 8th December 2025 by the Road Safety Club and the Anti-Drug Cell in collaboration with the Police Department, Kupvi. The event aimed to spread awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of road safety.
For this programme, ASI Shri Sant Ram and Constable Sakshi Chauhan from the Police Department, Kupvi were present as the keynote speakers.
In the first session, ASI Shri Sant Ram addressed the students and provided important information about the ill effects of drug addiction. He highlighted how drug abuse, especially the menace of chitta, is destroying the youth and explained various steps taken by the Government and the Police Department to eliminate this problem from Himachal Pradesh. He urged all students to stay away from drugs and contribute to building a healthy society.
In the second session, Constable Sakshi Chauhan delivered a detailed lecture on Road Safety. She explained essential road safety rules, preventive measures, and responsible behaviour while using roads. Her session emphasized the importance of awareness and discipline for reducing road accidents.
At the end of the programme, the Officiating Principal, Mr. Dev Raj Sharma, thanked the resource persons for their valuable guidance and motivated the students to stay away from drugs and follow road safety norms sincerely.
The programme was attended by Prof. Amrita Singh, Prof. Aruna Kumari, and SLA Prem Singh.
After the lectures, the students of the college also organized an Awareness Rally from Kupvi Upper Market to Lower Market to spread messages about anti-drug awareness and road safety among the local community.
The entire event was conducted successfully with active participation from students and staff.

A special lecture was organised at Government Degree College, Kupvi on 05 December 2025 in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh State Co-operative Bank, Kupvi. Mr. Virender Sharma from the bank addressed the students and delivered highly informative content related to Cyber Security, Online Fraud, KYC and other important banking issues.
The lecture commenced at 11:30 AM. During the session, Mr. Sharma explained the rising concerns related to digital transactions, possible risks involved and preventive measures to avoid online frauds. Students were also informed about various updated banking procedures and essential precautionary steps to be followed while using online banking services.
After the session, students interacted with the resource person and asked several queries which were responded to effectively by Mr. Sharma.
At the end, the Officiating Principal, Dr. Dev Raj Sharma, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Virender Sharma and advised all students to follow the suggestions shared during the lecture in their daily banking activities.
Overall, the session proved to be highly informative, beneficial and awareness-oriented for the students of the college.
