Ms. Vishakha Sandeep Pareek represented the institute at the prestigious “Know Your Leaders Programme” in Parliament, New Delhi. She was selected among 36 participants nationwide, ranked among the top 12 speakers, and was the only representative from Gujarat.

SSIP Cell of Dr. S. & S. S. Ghandhy Government Engineering College, Surat have successfully organized the Institute-Level SSIP (Student Startup and Innovation Policy) Screening for student projects.
During the session, more than 16 project teams presented their innovative ideas and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) infront of the Institute-Level Committee members. The presentations reflected the students’ creativity, technical skills, and entrepreneurial mindset.
After detailed evaluation and interaction with the teams, 12 PoCs were approved and sanctioned for grant support under the SSIP initiative. The committee members also provided valuable suggestions and guidance to help the teams further refine and develop their projects.
Such initiatives play a significant role in promoting innovation, research, and startup culture among students, encouraging them to transform their ideas into impactful solutions. 🚀

Exposure Visit to NAMTECH, IIT Gandhinagar
A highly enriching exposure visit was organized for students and faculty members to NAMTECH ((New Age Makers’ Institute of Technology), IIT Gandhinagar. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to explore advanced technologies, modern laboratories, and innovative learning environments.
Students interacted with experts and gained insights into industry-oriented education, smart manufacturing, and emerging technologies, helping them bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications.
Such visits play an important role in enhancing practical knowledge, inspiring innovation, and broadening the academic perspective of students and faculty alike.

🎓 Expert Session Successfully Conducted
The Alumni Association & Training and Placement Cell under the ISTE Students’ Chapter of Dr. S. & S. S. Ghandhy Government Engineering College, Surat organized an insightful expert session on:
“Exploring Career Opportunities for Engineers in the Government Sector”
The session was delivered by Mr. Chetan Bhimani (Director, Banking Academy), who guided students about diverse government career pathways, preparation strategies, competitive examinations, and long-term career planning. The talk helped students clearly understand opportunities in sectors such as engineering services, banking, public sector undertakings, and administrative roles.
More than 150 students have attended this session. Students actively participated and interacted with the expert, making the session highly engaging and informative. The institute sincerely thanks the speaker for sharing his valuable experience and motivating aspiring engineers toward meaningful career choices.

🎓 Expert Session on Guidance & Counselling for Higher Studies Abroad
The Training & Placement Cell and ISTE Students’ Chapter of Dr. S. & S. S. Ghandhy Government Engineering College, Surat successfully organized an expert session on Guidance and Counselling for Higher Studies Abroad on 21 February 2026 at the Civil Seminar Hall.
The session was delivered by esteemed experts Mr. Uttam Savani, Mr. Maharshi Shah and Mr. Rajesh from D-Vivid Consultant, who provided valuable insights into planning international education.
🔹 Key highlights of the session:
• Overview of global higher education opportunities
• Country and university selection strategies
• Admission procedures and required documentation
• Scholarships, financial planning and visa guidance
• Preparation for exams such as IELTS/GRE and career prospects after graduation
Students actively interacted with the speakers and clarified their doubts regarding course selection, eligibility criteria, application timelines and future career opportunities abroad. The session proved highly beneficial in creating awareness and motivating students to plan their academic goals effectively.

The Valedictory Ceremony of the Google-sponsored Training Workshop on Artificial Intelligence, jointly organized by Dr. S. & S. S. Ghandhy Government Engineering College, Surat in collaboration with Samprati Foundation and managed by Navgurukul, was successfully conducted on 23rd January 2026 with active participation from students, faculty members, and distinguished guests. The program reflected a shared vision of promoting advanced technological learning and strengthening industry-academia collaboration in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
The ceremony was graciously inaugurated in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Guest Trikambhai B. Chhanga, whose inspiring addresses emphasized the importance of emerging technologies, innovation, and skill development in shaping the future of technical education. Their insights motivated students to embrace Artificial Intelligence as a transformative tool for solving real-world challenges and contributing to national development.
The workshop was designed to provide participants with a strong conceptual foundation and hands-on experience in Artificial Intelligence, enabling them to understand its applications across various domains. Through interactive sessions, practical demonstrations, and collaborative learning, students gained valuable exposure to contemporary tools and methodologies in AI. The initiative not only enhanced technical competencies but also encouraged critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills among aspiring engineers.

It was a privilege to witness the inauguration of the AI (Artificial Intelligence) Free Training Workshop at Gandhi Government Engineering (Degree) College, Surat, organized by Samprati Foundation in collaboration with Navgurukul.
With the objective of equipping the youth of Gujarat with future-ready technological skills, Samprati Foundation has entered into an MoU with Navgurukul to provide structured guidance, skill development, and practical exposure in emerging technologies. As part of the first phase of this initiative, a 7-day AI training program (17–23 January 2026) has been launched for the first time in Surat, benefiting 720 engineering students through intensive 8-hour hands-on training sessions.
During the inaugural ceremony, Mr. Niravbhai Shah, Chairman of Samprati Foundation, highlighted Navgurukul’s impactful work in providing quality education in technology and leadership to youth across India. The Hon’ble Mayor of Surat emphasized the growing importance of AI in today’s world and appreciated the timely initiative taken to introduce AI training for college students. The program was further enriched by insightful guidance from Mr. Dineshbhai Patel, Founder of Disha Foundation, and Mr. Nayanbhai Sukhadwala, Chief Government Pleader, Surat District & Special Public Prosecutor (ED), who shared practical perspectives on responsible and effective use of AI.
The workshop aims to provide practical knowledge of AI tools across various engineering disciplines, enabling students to apply AI in real-world scenarios and develop applications independently. The initiative reflects a strong commitment toward bridging the gap between academia and industry while empowering students with relevant digital skills.
The program is being successfully coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Sanjay Joshi, with dedicated efforts from Dr. Darshan Mehta and Dr. Tushar Gundarneeya.
