Had the honour of attending the 14th International Tourism Mart (ITM) 2026 in Tawang, organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, which commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp (Deep Prajwalan).

The occasion was graced by the Hon’ble Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat Ji, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Shri Pema Khandu Ji, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) Ji, and other distinguished dignitaries.

It is a matter of great pride for Tawang to host this prestigious event after 13 years. The Mart provides an excellent platform to showcase the breathtaking natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and immense tourism potential of Arunachal Pradesh and the entire Northeast region.

I am confident that this prestigious initiative will strengthen tourism partnerships, attract investments, create employment opportunities and promote sustainable tourism while preserving our unique cultural identity and traditions.

My sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu Ji for their continued efforts to promote Tawang as a prominent tourism destination.

Together, let us work towards making Tawang and Arunachal Pradesh a leading destination for tourism, culture and sustainable development.

It was a great honour and pleasure to receive the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) at Thongmin Gonpa today.

It was a privilege to welcome him on this special occasion. May his visit strengthen the bonds of friendship, mutual respect and cultural harmony between our states.

Had the honour of attending the College Utsav, the 10th Annual College Day Celebration 2026, at Dorjee Khandu Government College, Tawang, today.

It was a pleasure to interact with the students and witness their enthusiasm, talent dedication. I encouraged the students to dream big, work hard, maintain discipline, and become responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to society.

I also emphasised the importance of skill development, entrepreneurship, and preserving our rich Monpa culture and traditions while embracing modern education.

My sincere appreciation to the Principal, Dr. Yeshi Gyesen, the faculty members, the organising team and the students for their dedication in making this celebration a success.

Our youth are the future of Tawang and Arunachal Pradesh. Let us empower them with knowledge, skills, and opportunities to build a brighter tomorrow.

The Tawang Marathon is not just about running; it is about bringing people together beyond differences, promoting peace and harmony and inspiring everyone to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.

Such events strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, encourage sportsmanship, and showcase the beautiful spirit of togetherness that defines our society.

Glad to have attended the closing ceremony of the 5th State Level Archery Championship' 2026, held at the Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso High Altitude Sports Stadium, Tawang, alongside Major General Amit Nautiyal, SM, VSM, GOC, 5 Mountain Division; Brigadier Vimal Tikoo, Commander, 190 Mountain Brigade; Shri Leki Gombu, ZPC Tawang; and other distinguished dignitaries.
The championship was a wonderful celebration of sporting excellence, discipline and the rich tradition of Archery. My best wishes to all the participants and winners, and appreciation to the organisers for successfully conducting this prestigious sporting event in Tawang.

Had a fruitful meeting with the President of the BRO Labour Union, NE Region, Shri Leki Tsering Ji along with the executive members of the Tawang Unit.

During the meeting, I listened to their grievances and concerns and understood the genuine issues they are currently facing in the interest of BRO labourers.

I assured them of my support wherever possible and pledged to raise their concerns with the appropriate authorities so that their voices are heard and their genuine demands receive due attention.

The welfare, dignity and rights of our labourers must always be given due importance.

Today, I was blessed to receive the sacred Tsedrub Wang from His Eminence the 14th Thegtse Rinpoche, Padma Shri Awardee at Thespa Gonpa.

I feel deeply grateful and fortunate to receive these precious spiritual blessings. May the blessings of His Eminence bring peace, good health, happiness and prosperity to all, and may all sentient beings be blessed with wisdom, compassion and harmony.

SEVA SANKALP ABHIYAN | TAWANG

Attended the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan: Indigenous Games and Sports Competitions, organised by the District Sports Association (DSA), Tawang and BJP Tawang Unit today at the Festival Ground, Tawang.

Such initiatives play an important role in preserving and promoting our rich indigenous games, traditional sports and cultural heritage while encouraging the younger generation to embrace sports, teamwork, discipline and physical fitness.

I appreciate the organisers and everyone involved for their efforts in keeping our traditional games and sporting spirit alive. Let us continue to preserve our cultural identity and pass on our rich traditions to future generations.

Together, let us celebrate our heritage and strengthen the spirit of Seva Sankalp!

Had the honour of attending and witnessing the Final Match of the 2nd Edition of the Monyul Super League 2026, held at the FIFA certified Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso High Altitude Stadium, Tawang.

It was truly a memorable finale and a celebration of football, bringing together talented players, passionate supporters and football lovers from across the region.

The Finale was graced by Dr. Mohesh Chai, Hon’ble MLA, Tezu, as the Chief Guest. I sincerely thank him for gracing the occasion and for his encouraging presence.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu Ji for his continued support and encouragement towards the promotion of sports and youth development in Arunachal Pradesh.

I also place on record my sincere appreciation to the entire Monyul Super League Organising Committee, players, officials, volunteers and supporters for their dedication and teamwork in making the 2nd Edition of MSL a grand success.

Together, let us continue to promote football and provide our young talents with greater opportunities to excel.
