The first PMRU in India setup by National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority, Govt. of India

This is the official Face book page of Kerala State PMRU society working under National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority. Kerala is the first State to set up a Price Monitoring and Resource Unit (PMRU) to track violation of prices of essential drugs and medical devices under the Drugs Price Control Order (DPCO).

Kerala State Pharmaceutical Price Monitoring & Resource Unit Society (KSPMRU) and Drugs Control department has jointly organized District Level Seminar on the topic “Pricing Mechanism of Essential Drugs Under DPCO-2013” & “Strategies to combat Antimicrobial Resistance” on 23rd March 2024 at JDT Islam College of Pharmacy, Kozhikode district.

A total of 160 participants including Enforcement officers of Drugs Control department from Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts, retail pharmacists, hospital pharmacists and clinical pharmacists of hospitals in Kozhikode district, distributors, faculties and Bpharm & Mpharm students of JDT Islam College of Pharmacy, College of Pharmacetical Sciences, Kozhikode, National College of Pharmacy, Devaki Amma College of Pharmacy attended the event.

The seminar was inaugurated by Dr.P C Anwar, Executive Director, Iqraa Hospital and Sri. Shaji M Varghese, Assistant Drugs Controller, Kozhikode District.

The sessions were presented by Smt. Sathya Sundar, Project Coordinator, KSPMRU society and Sri. Noufal C V, Drugs Inspector, Kozhikode district.

The pricing mechanism of NPPA by enforcing DPCO, Monitoring and Enforcement activities of NPPA, Importance of "Pharma Sahi Daam App" in the current scenario, Recent price reduction of ceiling prices and working of Kerala PMRU was discussed with delegates of various facets of pharmaceutical field.

Inroduction to the silent pandemic, Anti- Microbial Resistance, Patient and clinician centric causative factors for developing Antimicrobial and Antibotic Resistance, Irrational Usage of antiboitics in food producing animals and crops, Precautions against AMR, Regulations and awareness programs enforced by Drugs Control department such as PROUD, Operation AMRITH were discussed in the seminar.

Kerala State PMRU society under the aegis of Drugs Control department has organized one day Awareness Campaign at Government Women & Children Hospital, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram for promoting “Pharma Sahi Daam Mobile App” and providing awareness about price control of essential medicines on 05/03/2024 .

About 80 people participated in the awareness campaign. Installation and use of Pharma Sahi Daam Mobile app to find the exact price of medicines, procedure for lodging of complaints on shortage, overpricing and refusal of supply of medicines etc. were demonstrated to pharmacists, nursing staff & students, security staff and common public.

Bilingual notice (English and Malayalam languages) with QR code of Pharma Sahi Daam app and toll free number of Kerala State PMRU were distributed.

Kerala State PMRU society under the aegis of Drugs Control department has organized one day Awareness Campaign for the promotion of “Pharma Sahi Daam Mobile App” at Government General Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram on 04/03/2024.

Installation and use of Pharma Sahi Daam Mobile app to find the exact price of medicines, procedure for lodging of complaints on shortage, overpricing and refusal of supply of medicines etc. were demonstrated to physicians, pharmacists, patients, police, security staff and common public. About 150 people participated in the awareness camapign. Bilingual notice (English and Malayalam languages) with QR code of Pharma Sahi Daam app and toll free number of Kerala State PMRU were distributed.

Kerala State Pharmaceutical Price Monitoring & Resource Unit Society (KSPMRU) and Drugs Control department has jointly organized one day seminar on “Ensuring Affordability of Essential Medicines-Role of NPPA at a glance” & “Regulatory interventions to control Anti-Microbial Resistance” on 14th February 2024 at Fathima College of Pharmacy, Mangad, Kollam district.

A total of 181 participants including faculties and students of Fathima College of Pharmacy attended the event.
