The FCI Employees Association has today submitted a representation to the Hon’ble Union Labour & Employment Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, requesting issuance of clear instructions to all Central Government departments, PSUs, and organisations for reimbursement of travelling allowance (TA) and daily allowance (DA) to authorised trade union representatives attending conciliation meetings before the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), and Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central). The Association highlighted that while management representatives are provided TA/DA for attending such statutory proceedings, trade union office bearers are presently compelled to bear the expenses personally. The Association urged the Ministry to ensure equal treatment in the interest of strengthening industrial relations, encouraging effective participation in conciliation proceedings, and reducing industrial disputes through constructive dialogue.

The FCI Employees Association (CITU) expresses profound sorrow on the demise of Comrade Chandran, a dedicated and energetic leader of the Association.
He had served for many years as Alappuzha District Secretary and Kerala Regional Committee Member of the Association. Comrade Chandran fought uncompromisingly for the rights and welfare of FCI employees and remained a committed voice of the working class movement.
His contributions, dedication, and fighting spirit will always be remembered with respect and gratitude.We convey our heartfelt condolences to his family members, relatives, friends, and comrades.

With profound sorrow, the FCI Employees Association (CITU) mourns the demise of Comrade Sreenivasan, former District Secretary, state committee member and retired employee of Food Corporation of India Calicut.
He tirelessly worked for the welfare of employees and pensioners both during his service and even after retirement. His commitment, sincerity, and dedication to the trade union movement will always be remembered with gratitude and respect.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and comrades.
Funeral will be held on 25-05-2026 at 11.00 AM.

Dear comrades, The General Secretary of the FCI Employees Association (CITU) had recently requested **Hon’ble K. Radhakrishnan MP** to take up the issue of urgent recruitment in the Food Corporation of India before the Central Government.
We are pleased to inform that the Hon’ble MP has today communicated that he has officially taken up the matter by addressing a letter to **Pralhad Joshi**, Hon’ble Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, requesting immediate recruitment against the existing vacancies in FCI.
The Association sincerely thanks Hon’ble MP Shri K. Radhakrishnan for his timely intervention and support on this important issue affecting both the functioning of FCI and thousands of job aspirants awaiting recruitment opportunities.
The FCI Employees Association (CITU) will continue its efforts before the Government and FCI management for early recruitment to the vacant Category III and Category IV posts.

Today, the General Secretary of the FCI Employees Association (CITU) has submitted a representation before the Chairman & Managing Director of Food Corporation of India demanding immediate against the existing vacancies in Category III & Category IV posts across the Corporation.
The Association highlighted the serious shortage of manpower in various offices and depots and pointed out that around 10000 vacancies are presently awaiting recruitment. The letter emphasized that the last major recruitment for Category III posts was conducted in 2022 and for Category IV posts in 2017, after which no adequate recruitment has taken place despite increasing retirements and operational requirements.
Simultaneously, the Association has requested the intervention of Shri Dr. V. Sivadasan MP, Shri K. Radhakrishnan MP , and Shri John Brittas MP to take up this important matter with Shri Pralhad Joshi, Hon’ble Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
The Association strongly demands that recruitment notifications may be issued at the earliest in the interest of efficient functioning of FCI and to provide employment opportunities to thousands of deserving job aspirants waiting for FCI recruitment.

On 28-4-26 the Kerala Regional Committee of FCI Employees Association (CITU) held a constructive meeting with the DGM, Kerala Region to discuss several important issues concerning the welfare of employees.During the meeting, the Association raised key staff welfare matters including employee request transfers, DO restructuring issue, CAP storage-related concerns, and the empanelment of hospitals in Kerala Region. A memorandum highlighting these issues and seeking timely intervention was formally submitted to the management. The discussions were cordial and focused on safeguarding the interests of employees as well as the effective functioning of the organisation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Association accorded a warm felicitation to Shri P. Suresh Kumar, Manager (General), who is retiring from Food Corporation of India after rendering 41 years of dedicated service. His valuable contributions to the organisation and his support towards employee welfare were gratefully acknowledged.
The FCI Employees Association (CITU) conveys its sincere appreciation to Shri P. Suresh Kumar for his long and committed service and wishes him a happy, healthy, and peaceful retired life.
