Met with the Executive Engineer, PMGSY/PWD Reasi, regarding various issues of major public importance concerning road connectivity and basic infrastructure across the Panchari Moungri.
The discussions focused on the reconstruction of Adog Bridge over the Chenab River; upgradation of the Tote–Kothri road; completion of Lower Basnote and Lower Kultyar roads; and restoration works under various heads, particularly in the aftermath of the recent heavy rainfall and damage to infrastructure.
The issue of missing bridges at Panchari road at Chubunala, Kaunti, Lower Basnote, Moungri–Ladda and Ladda–Kothri was also taken up, along with the restoration of the Kaunti and Upper Kultyar roads.
The serious damage caused by heavy boulders at Bakrubad, including the loss of three houses and the threat posed to several other houses, as well as slides and damage along the Khourgali–Parand road, were also highlighted for urgent attention.
Special emphasis was laid on the maintenance of all roads, particularly the Kainthgali–Lander–Malti–Galiote, Kainthgali–Moungri–Bariote–Gabbar and Moungri–Ladda roads, besides all link roads. I also stressed the need for strong field supervision and timely ex*****on of ongoing PMGSY-IV projects, including five projects each in Panchari and Moungri, covering Thandal, Bakrubad, Chour Chanound, Loudhra, Kharthal, Chunta Gali, Khourgali–Radhnote, Gunsar, Sargali and Moungri–Ajjal Part-III roads.
We are also seeking additional financial support under various heads to rebuild and restore the infrastructure damaged or washed away during the recent rains. Rebuilding this infrastructure and ensuring smooth traffic and transportation remains a major challenge.
I remain committed to working closely with the District Administration, UT Government and Government of India, along with the concerned departments and agencies, for the reconstruction and development of basic infrastructure and for ensuring better connectivity and public services for the people across the region.
The challenges are significant, but our commitment to rebuilding is equally strong.
