25 YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE | 2001–2026
A journey that began on 7 October 2001, when Narendra Modi took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, has now completed 25 years at the helm of government. From Gujarat to the national stage, this journey has been shaped by public service, governance, reforms and a continued focus on development.
Over these 25 years, India has witnessed significant policy and development initiatives across infrastructure, digital technology, welfare, entrepreneurship, connectivity, economic reforms and India’s engagement with the world. Modi became Prime Minister in 2014 after serving as Gujarat’s Chief Minister for 13 years.
Reflecting on this milestone, Prime Minister Modi has expressed gratitude to the people of India and described serving the nation as the highest honour and a responsibility guided by the values of the Constitution. He has also reiterated his commitment to working towards the collective vision of a Viksit Bharat.
25 years. One continuous journey of public service.
From Gujarat to India.
From responsibility to a larger national mission.
