A One Day National Service Scheme (NSS) Camp on the theme “Gender Equality” was successfully organised by the NSS Unit 002C, Faculty of Arts, Banaras Hindu University, on 8th February 2026 at the Department of AIHC & Archaeology, BHU, under the able coordination and guidance of Dr. Priyanka Singh, Programme Officer, NSS Unit 002C.
Before the commencement of the main programme, a Shramdaan (cleanliness drive) was carried out by the volunteers of NSS Unit 002C. The volunteers actively participated in cleaning the surrounding areas of the venue, promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and social responsibility, in accordance with the NSS motto “Not Me, But You.”
The camp aimed to create awareness among students about gender equality, social justice, and the crucial role of youth in building an inclusive and equitable society.
The programme was graced by Dr. Priyanka Sonkar, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, Banaras Hindu University, and Former Programme Officer, NSS Unit 002C, as the Resource Person. She delivered an insightful lecture on gender equality, highlighting its social, cultural, and constitutional dimensions, and emphasized equal opportunities, mutual respect, and active participation of both men and women in all spheres of life.
Dr. Priyanka Singh (PO, NSS 002C) also addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights on gender equality, emphasizing the responsibility of NSS volunteers in promoting sensitivity, equality, and social harmony.
NSS volunteers actively participated in the programme and shared their views on women empowerment, education, and gender sensitivity.
J. A. Mollah, Senior NSS Volunteer, briefly explained the objectives, benefits, and opportunities of NSS, highlighting its role in personality development and nation-building.
At the end of the programme, Dr. Priyanka Singh (PO, NSS 002C) delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Resource Person and all participants.

J. A. Mollah, our Head Volunteer, was entrusted as the Supervisor of the Goalpara Nodal District Youth Parliament (Associate Districts: Bongaigaon, Barpeta, and South Salmara-Mankachar) held at Mahatma Gandhi College, Goalpara. The event was organized by NYKS Goalpara on 22nd and 23rd March 2025.
In a special moment during the event, our Head Volunteer was honored to receive a novel from Mr. Sailen Das, a renowned writer and the Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Goalpara, in recognition of his dedication and contributions.
J. A. Mollah expressed gratitude to NSS volunteers Kaushik, Joyshree, Ishika, P***k, Kumkum, Richa, Kamrul, Nuru, Shanidul, and others from Goalpara College for actively assisting in the successful ex*****on of the program.
Especially, he expressed his gratitude to Dr. Jugabrat Das, PO, NSS Goalpara College, K. U. Barbhuya, PO, NYKS Goalpara, and Mr. Atuar Rahman, Youth Officer cm Deputy Director of NYKS Goalpara, for entrusting him with this significant responsibility.

Volunteer Praveen Kumar of NSS BHU 002C secured first place in the Youth Parliament Competition held in the nodal district Munger, Bihar. The two-day "Viksit Bharat Yuva Sansad 2025" program was organized on March 17–18, 2025, at J.R.S. College, Jamalpur, by NYKS and NSS. In the program of the Hon'ble Minister of External Affairs, Govt of India Dr. S. Jaishankar and KTS 3.0, J.A. Mollah, Head Volunteer, along with two other volunteers, Aakas Kumar and Sujit Kumar Maurya, were deployed at Pt. Omkarnath Thakur Auditorium, Banaras Hindu University, on 23rd February 2025.
The Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of BHU, the Director of IIT BHU, Minister from the Uttar Pradesh State Government, and 45 foreign ambassadors were present at the event.
