Shaping emotions for over 700 years In doing so, it enhances the life and the emotions of those who know how to capture the nuances of “beauty”.

The charming story of Barovier&Toso started in 1295 in Murano (Venice, Italy) where the company has been established and is still based: it was when the first Barovier was mentioned as glass master in official documents about the emerging art of glass blowing. This story has continued from generation to generation, overcoming wars, eras, styles and tastes unscathed, with an ability for transformation and innovation that only passion and dedication can instil. Even today, Barovier&Toso interprets the tastes of the period by combining the glass tradition of its forefathers with trends and innovations in style and technology.

Aurora’s silhouette carries the memory of domestic light. Light travels across its surfaces in shifting layers, revealing reflections, depth and delicate optical vibrations. In Aurora, designed by , memory does not remain still: it is gently reawakened, finding a new rhythm in the dialogue between glassmaking heritage and contemporary technology.

Where architectural heritage meets the artistry of Murano glassmaking.

Built in 1891 in the historic heart of Bucharest, Villa Plantelor stands as a remarkable example of late 19th-century architecture. Its meticulous restoration has transformed the historic residence into a contemporary cultural destination, preserving its original identity while introducing a new architectural vision.

In one of the salons, the Venezia 1295, Izmir and Fez chandeliers, crafted in gold-toned Murano blownglass, complement the original stuccoes and frescoes, enhancing the room's architectural character through light, material and proportion. The project demonstrates how bespoke lighting solutions can contribute to the preservation and reinterpretation of historic interiors, bringing centuries of Venetian glassmaking expertise into contemporary architectural practice.

Scandinavian design meets the centuries-old craftsmanship of Murano.

Founded in Stockholm in 1995, Claesson Koivisto Rune has established an internationally recognised design language defined by formal clarity, balanced proportions and a multidisciplinary approach spanning architecture, interiors and product design.

The collaboration with Barovier&Toso brings together this distinctly Nordic vision and the expertise of Murano glassmaking. The result is Podio, a collection of mouth-blown glass vases conceived as a modular system, where individual elements interact to create ever-changing compositions. Crafted using the traditional corteccia technique, each piece explores the relationship between material, light and space.

A meeting of two design cultures, Podio reflects Barovier&Toso's commitment to engaging with contemporary international design, transforming centuries of artisanal knowledge into new forms of creative expression.

A Renaissance masterpiece, a legacy of Murano craftsmanship.

Created around 1460 and traditionally attributed to Angelo Barovier, the Coppa Barovier represents one of the most significant achievements in the history of Murano glassmaking. Originally conceived as a nuptial cup, it embodies the extraordinary technical mastery and artistic sophistication of the Venetian Renaissance.

Its distinctive blue glass, enriched with hand-painted polychrome enamels and gold, reveals a complex narrative of symbolic imagery. From the journey to the Fountain of Youth to the allegorical celebration of union and prosperity, every detail reflects the cultural and artistic heritage of its time.

More than five centuries later, the Coppa Barovier remains a testament to the continuity of craftsmanship. Still produced using traditional techniques, it expresses Barovier&Toso's commitment to preserving and transmitting the knowledge, gestures, and expertise that have defined its identity since 1295.

Overlooking the Grand Canal, Palazzo Garzoni embodies the enduring splendour of 15th-century Venice. Within the magnificent frescoed halls of its Piano Nobile, Barovier&Toso establishes an exquisite dialogue with the richness of marble, delicate stuccowork, and Gothic windows. Three Meknes chandeliers grace the central hall, with their compositions of hand-crafted flowers, leaves, and buds.

As a new season is about to reach Murano, the lagoon begins its quiet transformation. Light softens, the air turns veiled, and the water takes on deeper, warmer nuances. Inside the furnace, blownglass undergoes its own metamorphosis.

Fire renders it fluid, breath gives it volume, while the measured gestures of the master glassmakers guide the incandescent matter towards its final form. In both nature and glassmaking, transformation is a delicate balance of time, movement, and intuition.
