I was quite disturbed by just how many on the Government benches found this unedifying spectacle amusing.

The question being asked by my colleague Deputy Tom Coles was about the safety of migrant housing, an incredibly serious issue given the tragedy that unfolded in January of last year when George Castrudes died after lighting a makeshift fire to keep warm in his accommodation at La Valette Nurseries in Grouville.

Treating it all as a joke and pretending to play the fool in order to avoid answering is deeply disrespectful to the public who expect their elected representatives to behave appropriately and who want reassurance this issue is being taken seriously.

A serious question about the safety of migrant workers’ accommodation was met with laughter in the States Assembly yesterday, as Planning Minister Senator Mark Boleat ran down the clock rathe…

I'm absolutely thrilled that Noah Jervis has been elected as our new Chairperson, and that Lyndsay Feltham and Deputy Montfort Tadier are now confirmed as our Party Co-Leaders.

Noah has been involved with the Party since he was 14 years old and impressed me hugely with how he conducted himself as a candidate during the recent election. Alongside our experienced leadership in Monty and Lyndsay the Party is in very safe hands moving forward.

I'd also like to thank and pay tribute to Helen Evans and Sam Mézec for all their hard work during their stewardship, and I'm delighted they'll both still be involved with the Party.

Reform Jersey has elected its first joint leaders after members backed changes allowing two politicians to share the role. Deputies Lyndsay Feltham and Montfort Tadier were elected following a vote to change the party’s constitution at an extraordinary general meeting in St Brelade on Monday eveni...

Last night I attended a screening of ‘Life Support’ at the Arts Centre.

The documentary follows western medical practitioners trying to support their Palestinian colleagues and keep people alive as Gazas health system is systematically destroyed by Israel.

Beyond harrowing.

This week, the Health and Social Security Scrutiny Panel visited the Jersey General Hospital and Maternity Unit to gain a deeper understanding of the day-to-day operations and challenges of the Island's healthcare system.

During the visit, Panel members toured the Maternity Unit, recognising the significant improvements that have been made in recent years, and learnt the extent of maintenance required to keep the current hospital fit for purpose whilst the new facilities are being developed. They also discussed some of the plans to future proof the service as part of the New Healthcare Facilities Programme.

The Panel would like to thank the Director of Midwifery and Nursing, the team at the Maternity Unit and the Head of Estates for their time and insights. The Panel are aware of how much their dedication and hard work play a vital role in delivering high-quality care across the service for Islanders.
