Officers have been out for several hours dealing with flooded roads and trees down.

Most of the roads have been cleared but La Rue Du Bouillon remains closed until the tree can be cleared tomorrow.

There is a lot of debris on the road and high winds forecast for overnight so likely more to come. Please take extra care and drive slowly.

The parish flag pole has also suffered from the storm and has come down in the wind.

Please take care.

Do you want to support the parish you live in. We would like to speak to anyone who thinks they could help our community.

Time commitment is not too onerous with one duty week every four weeks.

If you’d like more information and a no obligation chat please email our Chef de Police, Centenier Andy Bisson on [email protected] to arrange or call the duty Centenier on 866560.

We have had a team of officers out over the past few hours checking roads within the parish and clearing large debris where we can.

All of the roads in the parish have access. There are a couple of roads that have trees partly blocking and these will be moved as soon as the tree surgeons can get to them.

Whilst the worst of the storm is over, the forecast is for strong winds and heavy rain throughout the weekend.

Please continue to take care on the roads and reduce your speed due to the debris that has fallen and will continue to fall.

St John Honorary police are here to help our community.

However, even for us there is only so much we can do. The forecast is for very heavy rain and wind overnight and tomorrow morning.

Many of our roads are already flooded and many more have standing water.

We have been out on patrol and some motorists are driving too fast through the water. Always drive to expect the unexpected as there’s a good chance a drain cover will be lifted or something has washed into the water and can’t be seen. Drive slowly through standing water 💦

Due to the forecasted high winds, we are unable to put cones or signs out, warning motorists of danger,so extra care is needed.

There will be more flooding to come and likely to be trees down when the wind picks up.

If you wish to report a tree down or a flooded road, please report it to the parish hall or duty Centenier tomorrow morning.

A co ordinated team will be working to clear everything as soon as it’s safe to do so. This will not happen during the storm.

Our officers will be assisting states emergency services with emergencies overnight. If you have an emergency, please call 999. If it’s not an emergency please call the parish tomorrow.

We thank you for your understanding and we, along with other members of the municipality will be out tomorrow to get things back to normal.

Please stay in if you can and above all, stay safe.

We have had reports of several roads flooded within the parish. Please take extra time and drive carefully when travelling about today.

Forecast is due for more rain and stronger winds. Advice is not to travel out unnecessarily.

Sharing advice that Helier Honorary Police shared earlier today :
🌪️ STORM AUSTEN – BE PREPARED! 💨

With Storm Austen approaching the Island, please ensure you keep up to date with the latest advice and guidance issued by the Government of Jersey and our emergency service partner agencies.

With strong winds expected, now is a good time to take a few simple precautions around your property. 🏡

✅ Secure or bring indoors any loose garden furniture.

✅ Make sure bins, plant pots and other outdoor objects are safely secured.

✅ Check those trampolines! These have a habit of making unexpected appearances in neighbouring gardens (and sometimes much further afield!) 😅

A few minutes of preparation now could help prevent damage, disruption and unnecessary callouts when the winds pick up.

Stay safe, look out for your neighbours and please don’t take unnecessary risks during the storm.

And remember… we really don’t want trending! 😂🌪️

Honorary officers refreshed their CPR and defibrillator training this evening under the guidance of Mark from Jersey Heart Support Group who kindly gave up his time to deliver the training.

Do you know how to use a defibrillator ?

If not, contact the parish hall as there will be FREE training sessions for parishioners.

We have several defibrillators around the parish.

Community matters.
