Residents of Division One and surrounding areas, I hope this message finds you safe. Hurricane Melissa is now exiting our island, but we are still experiencing some residual rainfall and winds. Let us continue to exercise caution and remain safe throughout this weather.
The road to Stonyhill is currently impassable at the entrance to Ranza. Residents and motorists requiring access to the top of Stonyhill Road are advised to use the Norwich Heights route from the Norwich School entrance. Your councillor is making necessary arrangements to clear this route as soon as possible.

As we approach this election cycle, I urge all residents of Portland Eastern to prioritize wisdom and civility. In our democratic society, two parties compete for support, and it's perfectly fine to maintain friendships despite differing political views. Let's agree to disagree respectfully and remember that our unity as Jamaicans transcends party affiliations. Once the election concludes, we must come together, putting aside our differences and upholding the values of humility, respect, and love.

To all the extraordinary mothers in our community and on our team, happy Mother's Day! A mother is a beacon of hope and unwavering love for the household; she is the first person to rise every morning and the last person to rest at night. She embodies motherhood even in sickness, in weariness, and in moments of uncertainty. She is the glue that holds the family together and ensures harmony in the home. A mother's selfless devotion is endless and her unconditional love is immeasurable; it is essential to honor mothers not only on Mother's Day but every day, for they are truly remarkable individuals. From the Desk of your Councilor Dexter Rowland.
