The Archbishop Dr. Winnie J. Owiti today joined Children at The Ebenezer Christian School and ECH Life Centre in the National tree planting exercise at the institution.

The significance of this tree-planting initiative extends beyond its immediate visual impact, it is a proactive measure against the challenges posed by climate change. In embracing the call to action on National Tree Planting Day, MSEA exemplified a resolute dedication to the preservation and restoration of Kenya’s natural resources for the well-being of present and future generations.

The ultimate goal of this initiative is to increase Kenya’s forest cover to at least 30 percent by 2050. Currently, the country’s forest cover is at 8.8 percent, while the tree cover stands at 12.13 percent.
