Victorious KCPE class of 2015
The KCPE class of 2015 proved its academic potential when it shattered the school record set in 2013 (341.42), romping home with a mean score of 352.36 up from 336.04 in 2014, the highest since the inception of the school. All the 5 subjects registered an improvement with social studies/CRE coming tops in the Keiyo South sub-county with a mean score of 74.50 and English second with 75.86.To celebrate this achievement, the Board of Management and Parents teachers Association members, school staff and some pupils converged on the evening of 19th January 2016 for a Thanks/Prize Giving ceremony like no other.
In his speech, the MD Kenya Fluorspar Company congratulated the 2015 KCPE class and appreciated all who played a role in realization of the achievement not forgetting to remind them to go forth and pursue their education with zeal and confidence. Each of them walked away with a prize with the subject teachers receiving a surprise cash token and certificate of commendation.
Kudos class of 2015! You made us all proud with your success and determination.

HEART OPERATION SPONSORSHIP
The Company in October 2015 sponsored a heart operation For Brian Kipchumba a 15 year old needy boy hailing from Turesia, at Mater hospital. The operation conducted on 12th October was successful and the boy is back to school having shown tremendous improvement leading to his gaining strength to perform activities that he could not before the operation. The cost of the procedure amounted to Ksh.600,000/= being medical, transport and subsistence costs.

New E-Learning System
After finally rolling out Msingi pack for class two, the company acquired another e-learning system for Fluorspar School. The school now has a total of 7 smart-boards for classes 1, 2 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. The E-learning systems is a cutting-edge technology that converts a typical classroom into an enhanced interactive teaching and learning experience. It enriches classrooms in several ways by providing hands on collaboration, access to online information.

CORNER-NDIZI SELF HELP GROUP
The above group from Kewapmwen is benefitting from the Company CSR programme with 12 of its members working in the Company central office farm. The Company funds the group to a tune of 1.8 million Kenya shillings per year in terms of salary payments. In addition, the proceeds from the farm activities are shared in an equal ratio between the Company and the group.

MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT (TRAINING)
In 2014-2015 Period the Company in conjunction with Komatsu Training school Nairobi conducted short courses on basic machine maintenance courses. A total of 12 mechanics went through the courses that are tailored to bring improvements on general machine maintenance. During 2014 & 2015 a total of 47 week long courses were attended by Workshop staff and 26 courses are planned for in 2016.

COMPANY TECHNICAL COURSES SPONSORSHIP
The above program runs mainly at RVTTI Eldoret and benefits local students emanating from locations surrounding the Mine and within a radius of 10- 15 Km. The scholarship covers full payment of tuition fees, provision of academic related requirements, payment of monthly stipend and accommodation. Each student cost the Company Ksh. 195000/= per year of study.
So far 7 students have completed their courses, 19 are on-going and 6 are reporting to college on 15/1/2016 to commence their studies for 2016.

Kenya Fluorspar primary school posted the best ever KCPE results in the 2015 examinations. The school posted a mean score of 352.36 up from 336.03 achieved in the 2014, examinations. Congratulations to all the students, teachers ,support staff, PTA, Board of Management and to Company Management for facilitating this achievement in one way or another.

Kenya Fluorspar Company is in the process of upgrading the sewerage system that has been in existence since the inception of the Company. Upon its completion the four chamber system is expected to hold waste-water from Kimwarer estate until the solid debris settles at the bottom of the concrete tank and lighter waste, such as oil etc, rises to the top to form the scum layer. Between the two layers will lie clarified liquid, which will be directed to flow into an outlet pipe and will gradually dissipate through a soak pit.
An eco system consisting of trees and shrubbery will be created around the new system.

Isaac Kibiwott Chelal
Isaac an 18 years old male student from Kapkono and studying at Kimwarer Secondary School was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2009. He was operated then and again in 2014. In October 2015 the doctors realized a recurrence of the tumor and referred him to Cancer Care Centre MP Shah Hospital Nairobi for specialized treatment.
Following a request from his parents the Company sponsored the treatment which amounted to of over Ksh. 420,000/= ( Four Hundred and twenty thousand) being medical, travel, food and accommodation costs for patient and a care giver for a period of 6 weeks.
The boy successfully completed the radiotherapy treatment on 5th January 2016 and came home stronger with great improvement on his health.
