Kindly note that birth registration helps children to secure their legal identity, family relationships, nationality and gives them access to public services such as school enrollment among others.

Immediately after the birth of every child, make sure you are issued with an aknowlegement of birth notification free of charge. Afterwards the aknowlegement of birth notification record is used by the informant to apply for a birth certificate at a fee at the office of the registrar of births.

Birth notifications are issued by:

1. A health facility administrator at the maternity ward incase of a birth in a health facility.

2. The Chief incase of a birth in the community/home birth.

Make sure you register within six (6) months from the date of birth...or provide notification if 6 months and above.
