The Employment and Labour Relations Court (ELRC) Principal Judge Hon Lady Justice Monica Mbaru today paid an official visit to Embu Law Courts, where she was hosted by the Presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Richard Mwongo, alongside Environment and Land Court Judge Hon. Justice Enock Cherono, Head of Station Hon. Mundia, and the High Court Deputy Registrar.
Also in attendance were the Embu Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Chairperson Ms. Mukami Boore, members of the LSK leadership, and officials from Embu Law Courts.
During the visit, the Principal Judge officially launched the ELRC Sub-Registry at Embu Law Courts, which will serve the greater Embu region and enhance access to employment and labour justice services. The sub-registry was also equipped with the necessary stationery and operational materials to facilitate efficient service delivery.
The launch marks a significant milestone in bringing judicial services closer to the people and strengthening the administration of justice within the region.

Family Mediation Week | 9th–13th
at Embu Law Courts
Family Mediation Week aims to promote the amicable and efficient resolution of family disputes through court-annexed mediation. During this period, matters filed before the court will be screened to identify cases suitable for mediation, and appropriate cases will be referred to accredited mediators for guided dialogue and settlement.
Key Activities Include:
Screening of family matters to determine suitability for mediation
Referral of eligible matters to mediation
Promoting awareness on mediation as a faster, confidential, and less adversarial approach to resolving family disputes
Mediation helps reduce case backlog, saves time and costs for litigants, and encourages solutions that preserve family relationships and promote lasting agreements.

Embu Law Courts led by The Presiding Judge Hon Justice Richard Mwongo , ELC Judge Justice Enock Cherono , Chief Magistrate , Hon. Francis Kyambia , All Magistrates and Judicial Staff hosted a successful Judiciary Dialogue Day that brought together members of the public, and key justice sector stakeholders for open and interactive engagement on the administration of justice.
The forum provided an opportunity for court users to gain a deeper understanding of court processes while engaging directly with justice sector actors on issues affecting access to justice.
