Baringo County Government through the department of Lands, Urban Housing, Planning and Development is on the process of acquiring Kabarnet Hotel property in a bid to achieve the aspiration of a modern County headquarters with more office space for effective service delivery.

Consequently, the governor H.E. Cheboi together with CEC lands Hon. Arch Reuben Rutto, today held discussions with Kenya Development Corporation (KDC) to kick start the process at Uchumi House, KDC headquarters, Nairobi.

The team agreed to speed up the process while observing all the legal provisions required.

Other leaders present: KDC deputy director portfolio management Erastus Njoroge, Assistant manager portfolio management Michael Rerimoi and George Kiplimo Senior portfolio officer.

Kabarnet recreational park located next to the National museum grounds will be the first modern park in the County among other town upgrading projects.

The project which is set to be commissioned in the next few months was constructed by the County Government in partnership with the Kenya Urban Support Program (KUSP) and implemented by the department of lands.

CEC for lands, urban housing and development Hon. Arch Reuben Ruto alongside world bank officials, made an inspection tour to the facility to check on its progress and further promised that the department will reclaim grabbed public land within the urban centres.

"We intend to create more green areas and recreational facilities in our County." He added.

Today, the Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Hon. Simon Chelugui was hosted by Kapropita Girls High school fraternity for a thanksgiving ceremony to celebrate the impressive results posted by the 2022 form 4 candidates.

CEC for lands, Hon. Arch Reuben Rutto, who is also the school's board member lauded the candidates for their tireless and unwavering efforts and commitment which led to the magnificent performance. He further motivated the current class to even go an extra mile to surpass their target of a mean of 9.5.

The CS was flanked by the County Commissioner Mr Stephen Kutwo, CEC Devolution Hon. Peninah Bartuin, CEC Agriculture Hon. Risper Chepkong'a, members of the County Assembly led by the Speaker Hon. Vincent Kemboi amongst others.
