Today, I am proud to celebrate the women from Ruguru and Kirimukuyu who have successfully graduated after completing their pastry cooking training, which I sponsored as part of my commitment to empowering our women with practical skills.

The training, conducted by Maria Joseph from Rathithi Polytechnic, has equipped the graduates with valuable skills that can help them secure employment, start businesses, and create sustainable income-generating opportunities both within and beyond their communities.

Empowering our women with skills is empowering families and strengthening our communities.

When we promise, we deliver.

I remain committed to walking with the people of Mathira and empowering our local community groups, especially our hardworking women who continue to transform lives at the grassroots.
I was honoured to visit a women's group in Gatunai Village, Kahiraini, where I supported their efforts by donating cooking utensils to help strengthen their activities.
I was deeply humbled when the women shared that I am the first leader to visit them, despite their village being far from the main highway. Their words reminded me that no part of Mathira should ever feel forgotten or neglected because every resident deserves to be heard, seen, and supported.
My journey across Mathira continues as I engage with more community groups, listen to their needs, and work together to build a stronger, more inclusive constituency for all.

This afternoon, I joined family, friends, and mourners at Ngorano PCEA Church to condole with the family of the late Mary Wangui Gundi.
Mama Mary was not only a friend but also a dedicated community member whose contribution will always be remembered. I fondly recall working alongside her in 2003 on the Kiongo Water Supply Project, which successfully brought water from Rũĩ Rũĩrũ to Kiondweini Village in Ngorano, positively transforming the lives of many families.
As the funeral service continues, I pray that God grants her family, relatives, and friends strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
