WISEHUB proudly hosted the IYBA-SEED Project 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 (𝐓𝐎𝐓) 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐮, bringing together educators, innovation leaders, and ecosystem actors committed to 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 within their communities.

Held at our office along Busia Road, the workshop strengthened participants’ capacity through practical training in business foundations, financial literacy, digital skills, and business operations, equipping trainers with tools to better support entrepreneurs and local enterprises across different hubs and institutions.

What began as a collaborative co-creation journey successfully translated into practical learning, shared experiences, and measurable impact.

This workshop reflected the power of partnership, knowledge sharing, and collective action in building a stronger, more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Faith Marekia is a water engineering professional and business leader committed to expanding access to reliable water solutions through Horizon Drilling Company Limited, where she serves as Co-Director in charge of Operations and Business Development. With an MSc. in Urban Water Engineering and Management and a strong academic foundation in Water and Environmental Engineering, she brings both technical excellence and strategic leadership to a company that has served diverse clients for over eight years.

Through Horizon, Faith leads work that responds to critical water access needs by providing hydrogeological study works, borehole drilling, solarized pump solutions, borehole maintenance and rehabilitation, water supply, water storage fabrication, and irrigation solutions. The company’s work supports NGOs, government, institutions, farmers, and individuals, reflecting the practical value of engineering in strengthening communities, livelihoods, and development outcomes.

Beyond her technical and business leadership, Faith is passionate about advancing the representation and success of women in engineering. Through mentoring female students, leading outreach initiatives, and speaking at educational events, she is helping young women see themselves as future engineers, innovators, and leaders. Her journey reflects the transformative power of representation and the importance of building spaces where women in STEM are not only included, but empowered to thrive and lead.

This special convening brings together ecosystem partners, entrepreneurs, role models and sector leaders to celebrate the voices, journeys and impact that have shaped the Biashara Pawa movement. As we close this phase, we honour the entrepreneurs and partners who continue to demonstrate courage, innovation and leadership across underrepresented sectors - and we crown the Final Four role model winners in Kisumu.

Habwe Florence is contributing to better health and nutrition outcomes through the use of innovative food products designed to support vulnerable communities. Her work reflects a thoughtful and impactful approach to nutrition, using practical solutions to address real health needs and improve wellbeing in Kisumu West.

Through a pilot study involving HIV+ adults, Florence’s work showed encouraging improvements in important health and nutrition indicators, including BMI, hemoglobin, zinc, selenium, and iron levels. These results point to the potential of nutrition-focused innovation to make a meaningful difference in supporting stronger health outcomes for individuals and communities.

By bridging innovation, research, and community health, Florence is helping to demonstrate how targeted nutrition interventions can support resilience and quality of life. Her contribution speaks to the broader importance of developing solutions that are not only effective, but also responsive to the everyday realities of the people they are designed to serve.

Through Vuma Animal Feeds Ltd, Agnes is doing more than producing feed - she is crafting solutions that nourish animals, support farmers, and contribute to food security across Kenya and beyond. Her work reflects the vital role agribusiness can play in solving real challenges, strengthening livelihoods, and creating lasting value across the agricultural sector.
