LBDA is a Regional Authority (RDA) established in 1979 by an act of parliament CAP 442 to spearhead development in the Kenya portion of Lake Victoria Basin P.O.

LBDA is empowered to undertake overall integrated planning, coordination and implementation of programs and projects in the basin. the basin and its catchments cover an area of 39,000 square kilometers exclusive of lake Victoria's area of 4,000 square kilometers. the authority's area of jurisdiction covers 18 counties, 15 of which are fully covered and 3 covered partially. Lake Basin Development Authority in partnership with Safaricom Foundation and USTADI Foundation under the 𝐖𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐈𝐈𝐈 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 are pleased to report 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 at its 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐩𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 (𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐂) in 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲. With a 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟏,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬, the greenhouse represents a deliberate investment in 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞-𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, and 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 for communities across the region.

Through this programme, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 are receiving 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝, 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬-𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 in 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐩 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬, 𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, and 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐩 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 — equipping them with 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 and 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞.

This initiative underscores the Authority's commitment to 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞.

Led by the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐠𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐎𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞, LBDA held a consultative meeting with 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟 led by the 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐊𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐨 on possible areas of 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩. 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟 deals in building an 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐢𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 from 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, with their main brand being 𝐁𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐨 𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬. The bicycles promote 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 by pupils and students from 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬, 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐛𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 and also help 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 in accessing 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬.
