Serikali ya County ya Turkana Imepata Ajali
Turkana Community Eye
Turkana Community Eye is Turkana’s home for news, development updates, culture, events, and real community voices.
Ekusi Lore E.C.M Sudais might need to slow down on those big political ambitions for a moment. The rate at which his own close allies are complaining about unanswered calls is becoming a public concern. Leadership isn’t just about who gets what, some people genuinely call to contribute ideas and support. If even his inner circle can’t reach him, then maybe the real issue isn’t the position he wants, but the accessibility he’s already struggling to show.

𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝: 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐲𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝
Something is deeply wrong in Turkana, and this time we must speak without fear, politeness, or political loyalty. Our county has become a battleground where leaders shout louder than they work, where alliances mean more than service, and where political camps are fighting while the people continue to suffer.
Right now, Turkana is divided. On one side stand six MPs. On the other side are the Governor, the Women Representative, and all 30 MCAs. And those of us who think independently, who care about real development, who follow facts instead of political noise, are left confused and frustrated.
𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞:
"Turkana is dying quietly while our leaders fight loudly. Who will fight for the people?"
𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐈𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞?
If the Governor is corrupt, then why are all 30 MCAs supporting him? Are they all being misled? Have they been politically captured? Are they serving their wards, or serving a person?
And if the six MPs claim to be fighting for the truth, then why can’t they prove it through real development? They have national budgets. They have NG-CDF funds. They have power, influence, and platforms. So where are the long-term projects? Where is the impact? Why do we only see microphones, drama, press conferences, and small projects with no meaningful priority?
This is the truth Turkana hates to admit. No leader in this county is completely clean. Corruption here does not come in black or white. It comes in degrees. Some leaders steal using inflated tenders and ghost projects. Others steal through smaller manipulations, through political favours, through relief food used as a tool of control. Yet all claim to be saints.
𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞:
"Corruption is measured in degrees, but its victims are measured in lives. Turkana’s people are paying the price."
𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬, 𝐘𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫
So before any MP points a finger at the Governor, before the Governor blames “enemies of progress,” before an MCA insults an MP, each one must first answer a simple question. Why do billions come into Turkana every year, yet people still lack water, good roads, proper health care, good schools, and economic opportunities?
Turkana receives billions annually. Not millions, billions. Enough to change lives. Enough to transform every ward. Enough to end water scarcity, improve roads, equip hospitals, build classrooms, and empower youth. But year after year, the people of Turkana still walk long distances for water, mothers still deliver on floors in understaffed facilities, children still learn under trees, and poverty continues to haunt the county like a shadow.
The problem is not a lack of money. The problem is leadership priorities, political interests, and corruption wrapped in development promises.
𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞:
"Billions flow through Turkana every year, but our children still carry jerricans. When will money serve the people instead of politics?"
𝐌𝐏𝐬 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫, 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭
If our MPs truly believe the Governor and the MCAs are taking Turkana in the wrong direction, then they should prove it by working with their constituents instead of shouting from podiums. Let them bring development closer to the people. Let them collaborate with their MCAs instead of fighting them. Let them invite civic education organizations into their constituencies. Leaders who are doing real work on the ground do not fear an informed community. Only corrupt leaders fear accountability.
𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞:
"Microphones will not quench thirst, fix schools, or heal the sick. Action on the ground will."
𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞, 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬
And if the Governor has already locked down the MCAs and the Women Representative, then MPs must lock down the trust of the people. They must show real action. A single visible, impactful project is worth more than a hundred political speeches. While MPs are busy trading insults, the Governor is busy strengthening his political choir, feeding MCAs politically, and feeding households with relief food that creates dependency instead of development.
If MPs fail to act meaningfully, the Governor and his choir will outmaneuver them easily. Because in politics, those who feed people, whether through real development or strategic relief food, gain influence. Those who only speak lose relevance.
𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞:
"The people hold the real power. Stop chasing MCAs, start serving households."
𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬
To the citizens of Turkana, the time has come to stop clapping for empty politics. Stop celebrating leaders who only appear during funerals, rallies, and camera moments. Start demanding receipts. Start asking tough questions. Where is the money going? What projects were planned? What was completed? Who won the tenders? Who is lying and who is working?
A united, informed community is stronger than any political camp. When the people demand accountability, leaders have no choice but to deliver.
𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞:
"Do not celebrate speeches or rallies. Celebrate boreholes that flow, schools that teach, and hospitals that heal."
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐏𝐬 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐔𝐩
To the MPs, here is the message. If you sincerely believe the Governor is taking Turkana off the right track, then stop crying to the cameras. Go to your constituents. Work with them. Show results. Show impact. Let your work speak louder than your noise. Because if you do not rise to the occasion, the Governor and his choir will leave you behind, and Turkana will remain stuck in the same destructive cycle of corruption, politics, and suffering.
𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞:
"Leadership is measured in what changes lives, not in how loud you shout at politicians."
𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝, 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭
Turkana needs leaders who build, not leaders who boast. Leaders who serve, not leaders who survive through political games. Leaders who understand that this County belongs to the people, not to camps, alliances, or political theatres.
It is time for the truth. Time for accountability. Time for genuine development. Time for leaders to sit up, wake up, and work.
Let the work speak.
Let the people see.
Let Turkana rise.
𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞:
"Turkana is not a stage for politicians to perform. It is a home for people who deserve progress."
Chegem Boaz
Hon. Daniel Epuyo Nanok, CBS. Turkana West Member of Parliament.
