KCGS is participating in the Regional Seminar of Maritime Information Fusion and Joint Operations Centres in Saint-Denis, La Réunion. The seminar brings together national maritime centres and focal points from across the Western Indian Ocean to strengthen information sharing, enhance coordination, and foster collective responses to maritime security challenges facing the region.
The engagement contributes to improved maritime domain awareness, strengthened regional cooperation, and more effective responses to transnational threats, promoting a safer and more secure maritime environment for all.

The Director General KCGS joined H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, and other senior government officials for the 63rd Madaraka Day national celebrations held today in Wajir County.
Kenya Coast Guard Service formed part of the marching contingent during this landmark event — the first of its kind in the northern frontier region — which featured cultural displays, music, dance and speeches.
Under the theme “Education, Skills and the Future,” the Service reaffirms its commitment to a united, secure and prosperous Kenya, from territorial waters to national borders.

The Director General of the Kenya Coast Guard Service today arrived in Wajir ahead of the Madaraka Day celebrations. He met with senior KCGS leadership and received a comprehensive brief on the preparedness of the KCGS marching contingent for tomorrow’s national celebrations.
The Director of Administration and Human Resource Management (HRM) and the Director of Maritime Operations were also in attendance.
KCGS’s participation in the Madaraka Day celebrations underscores the Service’s growing role in national affairs and reflects its commitment to discipline, professionalism, and service to the nation.

Today, the KCGS Baringo Station team promptly assisted the Catholic Church of Kambi Samaki in salvaging and safely relocating valuable church property submerged by rising water levels in Lake Baringo.
Working closely with the congregation during a routine lake patrol, the officers helped move essential items to higher ground. The Church Priest, committee members, and the wider Catholic community expressed deep appreciation for this timely and professional support.
Community safety and assistance remain central to our maritime mandate.

KCGS personnel have successfully concluded training on the Advanced Case Package and Trainer of Trainers courses held at the Military Training & Support Centre, Mahé, Seychelles. The occasion was graced by Lt. Philoe of the Seychelles Coast Guard.
The training, sponsored by UNODC, brought together participants from Seychelles, Mauritius, Kenya, and Tanzania in a shared commitment to regional maritime security.
