NMS DG Lt. Gen. Mohamed Badi gives a vote of thanks to the National Government, Nairobi City County Government, the Kenya Defense Forces ( KDF), NMS staff, partners as well as the people of Nairobi who immensely contributed to the successful ex*****on of the entity’s mandate.

In order to restore the city’s title of “the green city under the sun”, NMS greatly increased garbage collection capacity, eliminated and rehabilitated illegal dumpsites and revitalized public recreational parks including Jeevanjee gardens, Michuki, Uhuru and Central parks.

NMS surveyed 6,863 county-allotted plots and processed a total of 13,834 land lease documents. A total of 7,248 titles were processed and are currently being issued to Nairobi landowners. NMS also partnered with the Judiciary to construct four small claims courts in Nairobi.

To enhance mobility, NMS has constructed over 350km of roads, rehabilitated over 100km, maintained over 88km and developed over 20km of Non-motorized transport corridors. NMS also embarked on the construction of designated bus termini as part of decongesting Nairobi CBD.

NMS DG Lt. Gen. Mohamed Badi highlights some of the achievements in the health care sector including; Construction, renovation and expansion of various health facilities across the county, improved water supply in informal settlements and procurement of ambulances.

On 25th Feb. 2020 the National Gov't and Nairobi City County Gov't signed a Deed of Transfer of Functions Agreement for the following county functions.
•Health Services;
•Transport Services;
•Public Works, Utilities & Ancillary Services
•Physical Planning and Development

Arising from this transfer, NMS was established on 18th March, 2020 as the institutional framework to implement the Deed of Transfer. The 2-year tenure was extended by a further period of six months till 24th August 2022 and an additional three-month transition period.

H.E Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua presents NMS Director General Lieutenant General Mohamed Badi with the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Life Governorship Award during the official opening of the Nairobi International Trade Fair at Jamhuri Showground. NMS Director General was feted for the outstanding services rendered to the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) and the Nairobi International Trade Fair through exemplary perfomance in implementation of county functions, making Nairobi a city of choice to invest in.

Nairobi Metropolitan Services Director General Lieutenant General Mohamed Badi, Nairobi Governor H.E Johnson Sakaja and Deputy Governor H.E James Njoroge visit the Nairobi City County stand at the Nairobi International Trade Fair at Jamhuri Park Showgrounds.

The trade fair resumed on Monday September 26th after a two-year break owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.The seven-day exhibition is a convergence point for trade, commerce and knowledge sharing in both the agriculture and trade sectors. Members of the general public are encouraged to visit the Nairobi City County stand to learn more on how the Nairobi County Government is championing innovation and technology in the areas of agriculture and trade. The exhibition concludes on 2nd October 2022.

NMS Director General Lieutenant General Mohamed Badi joined the Hindu faithfuls in celebrating 100 years of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, a spiritual leader renown for his service for humanity and his immense contribution to the expansion of Hinduism globally. The 9-day festival dubbed 'Celebrating a life of inspirations' organized by the Swaminarayan Temple community concludes on Sunday 25th at the Jamuhuri High School, Nairobi.
