Today at State House, I joined grassroots leaders from Nyamira and Kisii Counties to meet President William Ruto.
Aim being to unite the Omogusii community and share our minds on what we need from the President — with a strong call to end Gender-Based Violence through stronger laws, greater community awareness, and solid support for survivors. Also emphasized our shared priorities: quality healthcare, wider education opportunities, better support for farmers, and empowering youth and women to create jobs and grow businesses.
A united community with a clear voice is the key to lasting development. I will keep pushing for these goals at the national level.

Today at Menyenya High School grounds, I joined fellow leaders, family, and the people of Nyamira to bid farewell to a great woman — Hon. Catherine Nyamato.
She was a courageous leader, a mentor, and a mother figure whose integrity and humility inspired many.
Her strength, wisdom, and compassion shaped lives. She stood for justice, service, and unity.
Her legacy in education, women’s empowerment, and community service will live on. May her soul rest in peace.

Together with fellow women leaders, I joined the nation in mourning the passing of a true trailblazer Hon. Catherine Nyamato.
We visited her family to offer our heartfelt condolences and stand in solidarity with them during this moment of grief. As we wait for Parliament to plan and coordinate a befitting send-off for our hero, we continue to reflect on her powerful legacy.
Hon.Catherine made history as the first Omogusii woman to be nominated to Parliament (1997–2002). She was a fearless advocate for women’s rights, a mentor, and a dedicated servant to her community. Her leadership opened doors for many of us and lit the path for future generations.
Her memory will forever remain alive in our hearts.

Today, we mourn a true trailblazer ,Hon. Catherine Nyamato — the first Omogusii woman to rise to national political leadership in 1992. She broke barriers and became a fearless voice for women’s empowerment and inclusion.
As Nyamira and the Gusii community, we have lost a bold and visionary leader. Personally, I will forever cherish the memories we shared. Her wisdom and courage inspired many of us.
To her family and loved ones , receive my deepest condolences. May God comfort you. Rest in peace.
