I had the pleasure of visiting the Quickmart Supermarket headquarters in Rwaka, Nairobi, where I held productive discussions with the company's leadership on strengthening collaboration between Government and the private sector to create more employment opportunities for our youth.

A vibrant private sector is central to Kenya's economic growth and job creation. By supporting the expansion of local enterprises and fostering strategic partnerships, we can unlock more opportunities for young people while building a skilled, productive and competitive workforce.

Our continued collaboration with employers remains essential in advancing skills development, enhancing workforce readiness and driving sustainable economic transformation for the benefit of all Kenyans.

I had a productive meeting with the management of Quickmart Supermarket to explore practical partnerships aimed at strengthening skills development and enhancing workforce competitiveness in Kenya.

Our discussions focused on collaborating through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) programme to ensure that experienced workers have their existing skills formally assessed and awarded nationally recognized qualifications.

By recognizing competencies acquired through work experience, the RPL programme will help improve career progression, boost productivity and expand access to better employment opportunities for Kenyan workers.

Strengthening partnerships between Government and the private sector remains essential in building a skilled, competitive and future-ready workforce.

A few days ago, we adopted key resolutions to strengthen governance, activate country chapters, accelerate the Abuja Action Plans and Mombasa Declaration, and build stronger partnerships that will advance quality skills development and decent work across Africa. The future of Africa's workforce depends on our collective action.
