The Office has been awarded the Prize for the Best Performance Audit Report of 2025 in the African Organisation of English-speaking Supreme Audit Institutions. Afrosai-E region, recognising an outstanding audit that showcased the power of performance auditing to strengthen accountability and improve public service delivery.
The Award was handed to the Auditor-General, FCPA Nancy Gathungu, CBS, during the 22nd Governing Board Meeting, in Liberia Here is a link to the report.

The Auditor General FCPA Nancy Gathungu,CBS has been re-elected as Chairperson of the AFROSAI-E Governing Board, while Auditor-General of Audit Service Sierra Leone, Mr. Abdul Aziz was elected Vice Chairperson. The elections took place during the 22nd Meeting of the Board, in Liberia.

The Auditor-General presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Mombasa Regional Office, a key milestone in the decentralisation of audit services and the strengthening of public accountability at the devolved level. She reaffirmed the Office’s commitment to enhancing accessibility, efficiency, and sustainability in the delivery of audit services.
Present during the Ceremony were Governor of Mombasa County, H.E Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Dr Patrick Mariru, CBS, the Director of Accounting Services, The National Treasury, FCPA Jonah Wala, and other distinguished guests.

The Office has received regional and national recognition for outstanding contributions to governance. Auditor-General FCPA Nancy Gathungu, CBS, officially received the three awards on behalf of the Office. The AG also handed over an Award to a staff member for her exceptional dedication to her work in the supply chain management profession.

The Office hosted a delegation from German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) for discussions on strengthening good governance, accountability, transparency and efficient utilization of public resources.

A delegation from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), led by Governor Dr. Kamau Thugge, CBS, held a consultative meeting with the Auditor-General,FCPA Nancy Gathungu, CBS. The consultation focused on strengthening public finance management in the public sector.

OAG staff participated in a run to protect and restore the Oloolua forest ecosystem. The run was organized by State Department for Irrigation, in collaboration with Kenya Forest Service to mobilize stakeholders, raise awareness and generate additional resources towards fencing and restoration of the Forest.

A delegation from the Supreme Audit Institutions of Lesotho, Liberia, and Sierra Leone is on a digitalisation benchmarking visit to the Office. The programme, organised by the African Organisation of English-speaking Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-E), focuses on ICT, Information Systems Audit, and data analytics.
The Office, recognised for its ISO certification and expertise in these areas, is providing a platform for knowledge sharing to advance digital transformation across the participating SAIs.
