When the Tough times come....

.. remember others have been there before you. Paul, who was under unending, impossible pressures, wrote;

'So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary afflictions is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.

For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal'.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 ESV.

There are hundreds of millions of international migrants globally, each a person with a name, a unique story, and a reason for leaving their home. People migrate for work or education, to reunite with family members, and to seek new opportunities. Some return home, while others seek to immigrate to other countries.

While most people move by choice, conflict, violence, persecution, human rights abuses, disasters and the impacts of climate change push millions of people to flee their homes in search of safety and stability.

No single country can address and resolve complex, global migration and displacement issues on its own. Kenya recognizes that to achieve safe, orderly, humane, and regular migration, we need comprehensive regional and global strategies and continued collaboration with governments, civil society, international organizations, and other partners.

David didn't have a Shield,
he didn't have an armor,
he didn't have an armor bearer,
he didn't have a Javelin,
he didn't have a sword,
he didn't have Goliath's size,
He didn't have 6 toes like Goliath
he didn't have Goliath's years
he didn't have Goliath's experience in battle
he didn't have anyone who cheered him on
he didn't have anyone who believed in him

Talk about the ODDS being against someone

But David had God

And he had Wisdom
And he had Courage
And he had Confidence
And he had faith in God
He even had the Audacity
And of course he had a voice

Then he had a sling and 5 stones

And "these" got the Job DONE!

In Life, JUST HAVE FAITH IN GOD and MOUNTAINS SHALL MOVE!!

DELAYED SUCCESS.

However much your success can be delayed, Do not give up at any point. Many people will always discourage you, only a few will whisper words of encouragement.

Be keen on words you feed yourself with. You will dearly succeed.

Somebody recently asked me how I think Kenyans are surviving the current economic turmoil. He was wondering how people are coping yet life is getting harder year after year.

There is no simple answer to that question. Everyone has their own economy and methods of coping.

However, the bottom-line is that most Kenyans are surviving through constant adjustments and lifestyle downgrades. This is what the media calls belt tightening. If you used to eat three times a day you eat twice or once. You also drop expensive items off your menu. People begin by dropping luxuries then start shedding off necessities. It is an agonising race to the bottom.

The sad thing is that people's lives have stagnated at best or regressed at worst. In such times, ambitions are shelved and dreams deferred. People focus on meeting basic needs. This results in despondency and loss of self confidence.

I view the last decade, as a wasted decade economically speaking. I shudder to think of another lost decade. If nothing changes, serious civil strife is on the way. Nothing can be ruled out.
